Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P553 (07-16-20)
You can hear people say today that everyone is a child of God or that there are many roads to God. Is that true? No. There is only one way to Jesus, and he tells us what gives someone the right to become a child of God.
John 1:11-13 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
When people say such things, it shows that they do not understand who Jesus is and what he came to do. Until a person has the Spirit of God living in him, which is what it means to be a child of God, a new spiritual creation. Recall the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus, who asked him what is required to enter heaven. Jesus replied, “Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.“
