Today the Body of Christ is the Body of Believers

~ The church, the ecclesia, the True church is made up of born again believers in Christ Jesus. The church is not on the corner of walk and don’t walk. It is not someplace you go. No one goes to church. Sure we use that term in everyday talk, but the truth of the matter is that the church is all over the earth today, and the Holy Spirit has made us a part of that group, when the Spirit comes to indwell a person, they become part of the body of Christ Jesus.

~ Now we talked about in 1st Corinthians 10:16 and 17. And what it says is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks for participation in the blood of Christ, in other words, the life of Christ. And is not the bread that we break up participation in the body of Christ, because there’s one loaf we who are many are one body, for we all partake of that one loaf. At times callers call because they are not quite grasping what they are reading in scripture or what they hear from the pulpit does not seem to make sense anymore. A person usually starts off by saying he believes Jesus died for all my sins, past, present and future, but then wonders if he needs to confess his sins to be sure he dies in a state of grace so he does not lose salvation. That is a person who has not grasped what salvation is. If salvation depends on anything we do to get it or keep it, then it is not salvation.

The only sin attributable to man is the sin of unbelief in what Jesus accomplished for us. Now, just because Jesus died on a cross does not mean everyone is universally saved. No one is saved by the death of Christ, although His death is a necessary part of salvation. So many people call in and ask questions about salvation. They are often confused by what they hear in their particular denomination or various preachers on television. Again, it is so important to rely on the holy spirit to reveal truth to you through the scriptures He has given to us through the prophets and apostles, who were eyewitnesses, when Jesus was alive walking on this earth. Ultimately, that is where truth has to come, from the Spirit of God in Jesus, who Himself is God in the flesh.

When you hear again the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, the events that happened prior and the events that followed his birth, what goes on in your mind? What do you ponder? Imagine having seen an angel or heard the voice of an angel speak to you, if you are a young girl, that you will bear a child without having relations with any man, and you are to name your child Jesus, Immanuel, which means “God with us”, and who says “He will cause the rise and fall of many in Israel”, and “a sword will pierce your own soul too”?
