Jesus Said I Am The Resurrection And The Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P41 (01-26-21)

Synopsis

If you were to ask somebody what is the meaning of the resurrection, what would they say? Is it to prove Jesus is alive? But what does His resurrection mean to you personally? Recall what the apostle Paul said to the Corinthians. If Christ Jesus was not raised, then we are still dead in our sins and our faith is futile.

So, let us look more closely at the events surrounding his resurrection. If you closely at his burial and how a cloth was wrapped around his head, and 75 pounds of spices put on his body, and a large stone placed around the entrance that takes many strong men to move, and then Roman guards in place at the entrance to ensure that no one steals his body away, there is absolute overwhelming evidence he was dead.

Then you hear the report from eyewitnesses, that we read about in the gospels, of what they saw when they entered the tomb some three days later. You have Joanna, Mary the mother of James and the others with them who told the apostles that the tomb was empty. An angel had moved the stone away.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Eternal Life in Him

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P596 (01-07-21)

Synopsis

So many people call in and ask questions about salvation. They are often confused by what they hear in their particular denomination or various preachers on television. Again, it is so important to rely on the holy spirit to reveal truth to you through the scriptures He has given to us through the prophets and apostles, who were eyewitnesses, when Jesus was alive walking on this earth. Ultimately, that is where truth has to come, from the Spirit of God in Jesus, who Himself is God in the flesh.

So often we hear from people that you can lose your salvation or that you have to do something to keep yourself right with God, or you have to be obedient to the law so as to keep in God’s grace or to do some religious practice to get more grace. All of that is simply not true. If anyone says you can lose your salvation then they do not know what salvation is. If anyone says that salvation depends on what you do then he does not understand salvation. If you are in Christ, you cannot get any more than what you already have, which is Jesus, full of grace and truth, who is your wisdom, righteousness and redemption.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Eternal Life in Him

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P595 (12-18-20)

Synopsis

Many callers ask questions that reveal the lack of understanding of what salvation is. Bob shares from the scriptures to help people understand what salvation really is. Many people think you can lose your salvation. If you think that, then you do not really know what salvation is. Salvation is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. Many other people think salvation is getting your sins forgiven. Others think that you have to ask God for forgiveness when you sin. All such questions means that people have not understood the totality of the cross, what Jesus meant when He said, “It is finished!”, or that salvation is life, of being made complete in Christ.

Salvation is receiving new spiritual life. Getting sins forgiven is something Jesus alone did, when He shed His blood on a cross. He will not shed his blood again, and as we read in Hebrews, there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood. Jesus’ death on a cross was a necessary preparation for life to be given. For if God did not take the just penalty of death for our sin, no one could be saved.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Gives Resurrection Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P591 (12-04-20)

Synopsis

So you want to share truth with your family and friends. You sense in your spirit, and maybe you are even convinced from your reading of God’s word, that surely we are in the last days. But I have loved ones, and I have Jewish friends, and Catholic and Protestant friends! How do I share the truth of the gospel to them?

Yes, I have friends in all kinds of situations. Some seem quite moral, and others legalistic. Some are struggling in their marriage, or addicted to drugs. They all can be nice people, too, of all kinds of religious backgrounds or lack thereof. They all seem like really nice people, at least when I interact with them. And, is there really one sin that is more serious than others? What about the nasty nine or the terrible twelve sins? I mean practically people go to jail or get death penalty, but what is God’s perspective on all this? None of us are perfect. What is God’s expectation of us? What does God want from us? Can anyone really approach God, who is absolutely sinless perfection?

In essence, these are the types of questions callers ask on the daily radio program of Bob George Ministries.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Sins of The World He Died for You

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P24 (12-02-20)

Synopsis

So Jesus fulfilled everything that was written about Him through the prophets, in the Psalms by King David around 1000 B.C., through Micah, around 500 B.C. and through Isaiah, around 700 B.C., and through other prophets as well. Did they understand what they were writing? No. But the Holy Spirit spoke through them, and they wrote down what they heard. They had some revelation but certainly did not understand everything that they wrote down.

All of us were born without the Spirit of God living in us, including the prophets. Truth had to be revealed to men by the Spirit of God, even to the prophets, not what the word of God says, but what the word of God means. Now, certainly the prophets had certain revelation revealed to them in their time in history. Even Abraham believed God and that was credited to him as righteousness. We read about the faith of many of these Old Testament people in the book of Hebrews, and that faith they had led to certain action and behavior. They trusted God, that God was able to fulfill what He had promised.
