Victory Over Depression Bob George Ministries

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P481 (10-11-19)

Synopsis

Bob George answers calls from several people, those struggling with depression and those who heard confusing teaching. The common questions people ask about are in regard to overcoming depression and in regards to salvation. Frequent questions often asked in regards to salvation are, “If a person commits suicide will they go to hell?” and “Can a person lose salvation?” Many times people are under erroneous teaching that gets them all confused. So they ask a specific question on a verse that someone teaches on that seems to indicate you can lose salvation and wants clarification on what that verse really means. For example, what does it mean by, “he that endured to the end, the same shall be saved”?

Bob George provides encouragement for those struggling in depression and provides practical advice with truth from God’s word. The key to overcoming depression is focusing on what you know is true, that God loves you, that nothing will separate you from the love of God, and He will never leaver you nor forsake you, and to be thankful on all that you do have. You focus on what is reality, on what you know is true.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Marriage a Matter of Identification

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P480 (10-10-19)

Synopsis

Bob received calls from several listeners, answering questions in the world today as well as the practical issues. Bob explains the gospel message and applies that to the practical problems people face today. Bob addresses the practical issues of life, such as anger issues stemming from fear, marital problems, and living in freedom from religious tradition, by the practical message of the gospel, Christ in you, the hope of glory. We are born dead and in need of life. That is not a religious thing. That is a very practical message God came to bring to man through new life in Christ Jesus.

The reason Gloria is struggling in marriage is because she is unequally yoked to a non-believer who does not have any indication he is willing to live with her, being adamantly opposed to the message of Christ Jesus and is abusive to her. God’s word provides instruction to a believer that he has freedom to leave a non-believer to live in peace. God wants us to live in peace. Yet, if a non-believer is willing to live with you, is not opposed to you being a Christian and is not abusive to you, then let him stay with you, for God may use you to lead him to Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Be Transformed Renew Your Mind

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P474 (9-19-19)

Synopsis

Rainey from Albany, NY

Rainey: I am reading Classic Christianity, and calling the number at the end of the book. I am dealing with depression. I have had a very difficult childhood, with divorce. I thought I got over most of the stuff. I was always religious, a Catholic growing up, and thought I would become a nun. I think anti-depressants help. I get messages that I do not have enough faith.

Bob: Let me see if I can help you. If you have depression, I can help you with that. Psychiatric patients are like that because they are obsessed with the past or the future. The first thing you have to understand is that God created you that our feelings will predictably respond to what you are thinking. As an example, “Have you ever felt the emotion of jealousy? What were you thinking? Jealous thoughts. That is why we are feeling thoughts of jealousy. Are we together?

Rainey: Yes. It is hard to keep a thought from entering.

Bob: Have you ever felt sad? Have you ever felt happy? What were you thinking? Happy thoughts. Have you ever felt anxiety?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith in Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 48 (07-22-19)

Synopsis

Jesus walked on this earth to come to his own, to show them that he is the Messiah that was to come into this world but his own did not receive him. But to those who did receive him he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believed in his name.

Jesus identified himself as the good shepherd. He is the shepherd for his sheep. The sheep are those who hear his voice and believe that he is the savior of the world, the one who gives life to men. He came first for the Jew and then the Gentile. The Gentiles later too heard the message along with some Jews and believed and were saved. Jesus all along came to make one new body, the Ecclesia, out of the two.

Jesus also identified himself as the gate, the only way by which man can be saved. Those who try to enter any other way except through Jesus, Jesus says their father is the devil and said they are a thief and a robber. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. Those who try the best they can or make up their own philosophy or try religion, God says they climbed over the fence and did not come in.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

I Once Was Blind Now I See

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 47 (07-17-19)

Synopsis

Bob George finished the story of the account in John where Jesus healed a blind man. The Jewish leaders of the days attacked both Jesus and the man once blind but now can see. All they could see was a violation of their law, of breaking the Sabbath by spitting on the ground, making mud, and washing the man’s eyes on the Sabbath. Everyone is born spiritually blind. Jesus came to make the blind see. Bob shared his own testimony of those early years he was blind and lost. He also shared the testimony of John Wesley, a pastor and minister who was blind and lost, sharing simply what he thought was true but was blind until the day he understood justification by faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ upon hearing a message from the book of Romans. Prior to that, the teaching he was under was by blind men. Prior to being born again, he thought he could see. He was blind thinking he could see. So too all of us once were.

There are two kinds of people in the world today. You have people with self-righteousness and people indwelt with God’s righteousness.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
