The Law Kills and The Spirit Gives Life

We are reviewing a little bit of yesterday’s broadcast first, and then continuing along in our bible study book, A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection. Let’s listen is as Bob teaches from the An Eternal Inheritance chapter.

2 Corinthians 3:6
6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

So He upheld the law. He fulfilled it with His life. He upheld it with His death. When He was buried. He buried the law, meaning we died to the law. The law is what killed, as Paul said through the law, I died to the law. The law killed me. And in my death and resurrection, I died to the thing that killed me. So we buried the law so that we could be raised from the dead in the newness of life, being freed from the law. So Christ fulfilled the law through His life. He upheld the law in His death. An Eternal Inheritance – We’ve Been Made Perfect in His Sight

We are continuing along in our bible study book, A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection. Let’s listen is as Bob teaches from the An Eternal Inheritance chapter.

Bob: We’re picking up on our lesson called An Eternal Inheritance, and it’s probably one of the most disputed doctrines in the scripture. It is amazing when you take a look at the totality of what is called the Christian faith of the terrific high percentage of people that teach that you can lose your eternal inheritance. Which is kind of a contradiction of terms to lose eternal inheritance, but there are a terrific number of people who teach that. It’s an interesting thing, in my opinion, that you also have a large group of people who not only teach that you have to work for salvation. So you’ve got a whole group of people teaching you have to work to get saved and then you’ve got a whole bunch of people teaching that once you do (get saved), you can lose what you worked for and a very small percentage of people that teach that it is finished or justification by faith and by faith alone.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God Has Forgiven You of All Your Sins!

John called from Phoenix. He had a question in regards to the blessed assurance. He was worried about one particular verse of scripture. It scared him to think God may say, ‘I never knew you’ based on some of his sins.

Bob clears it up. Salvation is being saved from death. For the wages of sin is death. When Jesus went to the cross, he took away the sins of the world. All your sins were future when Jesus died on the cross. With God there is no past, present and future when it comes to dealing with sins on the cross. Jesus took ALL your SINS away.

Now, a person that has accepted Jesus by faith has eternal life. It’s a life and death issue today.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’

The Saving Life of Jesus Christ – Salvation for Sinners!

 

Clarence called from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He called about salvation. He said he had lived a hard life, and a life of sin. He wanted know if he could be healed. He wanted to know if he could be saved. He wanted to know if there was any hope for him. He asked the bottom-line question, “Am I earmarked for damnation now? Or is there anyway at this point that I can be saved?”

Yes, Clarence you can be saved.

Bob says to the salvation question, “Yes absolutely, God didn’t come to save good people, there aren’t any good people. He only came to save sinners. And in that, we are all well qualified.“

Understanding both the Cross and the Resurrection are keys to understanding the gospel. When you study the word of God, allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and reveal the truth to you.

Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jesus took away the wrath of God for our sins. He did not atone for sins, He took them away. Propitiation means it was satisfied for the sins of the whole world. It is finished. He loved us so much that He did this for us! He took away ALL OUR SINS! Once we grab a hold of this Truth then we rest in His Love for us. Are you exhausted because you are trying to get something you either do not have, spiritual life, by means of the flesh, or thinking you do not have what God says you already have? Are you not resting in what Christ did? What did he do? Have you not heard? Or, have you heard, but have you rejected the knowledge of truth?

So if you have not heard, this is the truth. Man was born dead spiritually, without the life of God in him. But, you say, that is no fault of mine. That is what Adam did. Are you so exhausted in trying to perform to be accepted and loved? Do you have an emptiness in your heart? Even with your success in this world, you are now asking what the purpose of life is? Why am I here? Why do I feel so empty inside? Those are indicators you do not have the Spirit of God living in you. Have you sinned?
