Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P665 (08-27-21)

Allow the Holy Spirit Living in You to Renew Your Mind With Truth

In order to grow in Christ, we need to replace error with truth. But do we recognize the error? How would we if we are not spending time in God’s word relying on the Spirit of God living in us to teach us. A common mistake that hinders growth is relying on denominational persuasions on what truth is.

A common hindrance to growth is all the denominations not teaching truth. Listen as a caller asks a question concerning a church practice of home churches for today, as if that is the only way church structure should be done according to some people, that led into a conversation about the church being a mess today. The church is not a mess because of its organizational structure even though that brought about some of the mess. What good does it do where the whole church is doing the same thing? There is one denomination where the pastor looks alike and everybody looks alike, and that is not even the problem with the church. The problem is they are teaching heretical things within it.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Your Identity in Christ Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P662 (08-19-21)

If God Made You Holy, Set Apart as a Child of God, Walk in that Unity in Spirit and Grow in Truth

In the world today, you may hear people say, “I am a Christian too” But the word Christian has a different connotation of meaning to different people. You used to hear people say that if you are born in America, you are a Christian because this is a Christian nation. Mormons, Protestants and Catholics all say they are Christian, yet they all have different doctrinal beliefs. Others will say that they are a Christian because they were born into a Christian home. Then you may hear or read about “COEXIST”, as if all religions of the world believe the same way, or if they do not, it is just minor doctrinal differences. A person will say that all we need to do is just love one another. That we just all need to get along. The emphasis in the world today is often on unity, to build bridges with other belief systems, with the assumption that we can achieve unity apart from truth, as if everybody can define whatever they want about what truth is, and coexist together in unity.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P661 (08-13-21)

Addressing Music Style, Modesty and Behavior in the Church

Common questions asked in the church are about proper behavior, music styles and modesty in the church assembly (see 1 Corinthians 6 in regard to lawsuits among believers or sexual immorality and 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 in regard to the abuse of the Lord’s Supper). A youth pastor might wonder about how to address those under his care on matters of dress code. At times, this can be a legalistic problem, and best left to the mother of her daughter to address, as addressed in a previous call-in program, in regard to skirts below the knee. As another example, a camp director was overbearing on such a matter, and forbade different sexes to be swimming together. As Bob had remarked to the camp director, that it is okay for he and his wife to sleep together in the privacy of their home but not to be swimming together in decency and modesty in a public place. As another example of legalistic behavior, that could be insisting that your church only serves the Lord’s Supper with real wine. In such a case, a pastor would be wise to serve grape juice instead, because he is making his decision based on love, to not cause a stumbling block to a person who is addicted to wine, such as an alcoholic (refer to 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 in regards to Love being your guide).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Fellowship in Jesus and the Body of Christ

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P660 (08-12-21)

What About 1 John 1:9 and Romans 13?

Some of the most common questions asked about concern passages of scripture in 1 John 1:8-9 and Romans 13. When I sin as a believer, am I out of fellowship with God? And if so, do I have to confess my sins, to get back in fellowship with God? As believers in the New Covenant, are we to obey civil law? But I thought somewhere in scripture I read that God came to abolish the law. So what does that mean that a believer is no longer under the law?

First, let us read the full passage of scripture in 1 John. Then, let us ask some questions. Who is the author of 1 John speaking to? Believers or non-believers? Also, realize that this is translated into English from Greek. Could the translation into English be a poor translation? If it was literally translated from the Greek, what would it really be saying? If it was saying what many people think it is saying, how would that contradict other clear scriptures such as John 19:30, Romans 5:10, Hebrews 9:20 and Hebrews 10:17-18. A common principle in interpretation is to base your doctrine on the many scriptures that are clear rather than on one scripture that is not as clear.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Finality of the Cross

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P1 (08-09-21)

Understanding The Framework for Knowing God through Jesus Christ

What does it take to understand God or the meaning of His word? Do you have to know Greek or Hebrew? Do you have to be educated? No, none of that is necessary. Do you have to have a pastor or gifted teacher to explain things to you? No, that is not needed either. That can be helpful if the pastor or teacher rightly divides the word of God and explains things from the word of God. But how would you know if he is telling the truth? One person can persuade you to believe something, and then someone else can then try to persuade you something different. And both could be wrong. How would you know? Turn to 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 and what do we read there that is needed to discern the meaning of the word of God?

To know God requires that you are a child of God, born again from above, having the Holy Spirit, the Spirit full of grace and truth, living in you guiding you into all truth, while you have a heart tuned toward the living Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith Says Thank You to Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P659 (08-06-21)

Grow in Grace by the Spirit of God Revealing Truth to You Through His Word

Sometimes we all just lack confidence in the truth. We may know the truth but because we have listened to so many different preachers, we are somewhat doubtful or confused, because what we are hearing from these preachers is contradicting what we are reading from the scriptures. We have been taught by the Lord, having studied the scriptures on their own for quite some time, and have a good handle on the truth, but sometimes we get off course. We now start questioning what all these preachers are saying. Listen as Bob George explains the basic foundational truth on what salvation is, in regard to faith alone in what Jesus accomplished by His death, burial and resurrection for us, and reminding a female caller of the proper understanding of baptism, which never saves anyone, and encouraging her to continue growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, as she has been doing, and letting her know she is on the right track.

As a reminder to all our listeners, baptism never saved anyone. There are no steps to salvation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
