Present With The Lord

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P687 (11-11-21)

Absent From the Body and Present With the Lord

Join Bob as he talks with callers about a time for all things. Being absent from the body and present with the Lord when a believer’s body dies. We have this glorious hope before us!

Another caller asks Bob about Jesus turning water into wine. Understanding the timing issue too. Very interesting. Jesus does nothing other than what the Father tells Him to do. Jesus lived as the perfect Man, following all what the Father had told him to do.

John 5:19
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

Another caller asks about multiple wives in the Old Testament. Today we are told one man and one woman in marriage.

1 Corinthians 7:2
2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.

A followup caller spoke of sex before marriage. Bob explains this as what it is, sin, fornication.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P2 (11-10-21)

The Fullness of the Gospel in all its Truth.

Many people have grown in some sort of religious upbringing, whether Muslim, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, or whatever it may be. But even if you have not, the celebration of the birth of Christ is a well known holiday throughout the world. You have probably heard about a man named Jesus of Nazareth who died, was buried and rose again. Even on our calendars is written B.C., meaning before Christ was born, and A.D., meaning the day of our Lord. So, the fact that he was born into this world is a well known indisputable fact. And, there is evidence that he lived, died and was buried. There are even eyewitnesses who testified of his resurrection from the dead. But do you know why a person named Jesus came into this world? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the cross?”, how would you respond? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the resurrection?”, what would you say?

Colossians 1:6-8
6 In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world – just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all of its fullness.

A Closer Look at the Reality of the Resurrection

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P1 (11-09-21)

Understanding The Reality of The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Join Bob George as he begins a new study on “A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection.”

The cross was were we were reconciled to God, but the resurrection is for LIFE.

Yes Jesus said, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10). Yet the average professing Christian is saying. “There is nothing abundant about my life. I know my sins are forgiven and that I am going to heaven, but what about today! I still experience doubts, fears, frustrations, and defeat. Surely there must be something more to this Christian life.”

There is and it comes from understanding the fullness of the gospel. Most people when asked, “What is your understanding of the gospel?” respond, “Christ died for my sins.” This is only part of the gospel. Christ was also raised from the dead, and it is through His resurrection that we see the full gospel. The full gospel can be summed up like this:

Jesus Christ gave His life for us;
so that He could give His life to us;
so that He can live His life through us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus King of Kings

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P40 (11-08-21)

The Gospel in all its Truth

The Gospel in all its fullness, a righteousness from God that has been revealed, Christ alive living in you, your only hope of glory, is bearing fruit. When people think of the gospel, is that what they have heard and understood? Or, have you heard a half gospel, a gospel of merely getting your sins forgiven? Have you understand that there is a righteousness from God that has been revealed or are you still trying to obtain righteousness by what you do? Are you begging God to forgive you when you sin? Have you made up your own ideas of what righteousness is and how to get it? If so, then that is what man-made religion is.

Man-made religion never made anyone righteous in the sight of God any more than the Jews could under Judaism, by following the laws of Moses, the ten commandments and all the rest. Neither can man make himself righteous by doing the best he can. Any sort of system man makes up, whether confessing your sins to a priest to get forgiveness or going to an altar begging God to forgive you, or doing this 1 John 1:9 of keeping short accounts with God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Grace and Love

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P686 (11-05-21)

How to Walk in the Freedom of Christ Jesus

Discerning the meaning of the scriptures to walk in freedom comes from knowing foundational truths of grace versus law, the New Covenant versus the Old Covenant, and the passages in their proper context.

Several callers asked questions that showed their lack of discernment of scriptures. More often than not they are hearing incorrect teaching from the pulpit yet failing to check out what has been clearly revealed through simply reading of the word of God. Other times they are simply growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ but had not quite grasped truth from God’s word. By someone simply pointing out the meaning of God’s word, by asking simple questions from God’s word, the answer is more evident and clear. What also is beneficial is to have a clear understanding of law and grace and that everything written down in the word of God is not written to you. Those things written down by the prophets were often written to those still under an Old Covenant since Jesus had not yet come during their life time to replace the Old Covenant of law with a New Covenant of grace.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P685 (11-04-21)

Christ is our wisdom and help in time of need. He is the Truth to all our problems. Let us walk in a manner worthy of our calling in Christ Jesus.

Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11.

1 Corinthians 11:10
10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.

Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From Bob”s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful life style and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her hair grows out.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
