Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P29 (06-23-20)

Synopsis

There is hope not just for that future day after I die where I am absent from the body and present with the Lord. There is hope for today by faith in His promises. But knowing our tomorrow is secure, it puts our mind at ease to face today, for they are but light and momentary in comparison to who is at work within us, those things that last forever. We, who are in Christ, do not have to worry about our future. Therefore, we do not have to worry about our present. Neither do we have to worry about our past. It is over. So press on to the high calling in Christ Jesus.

To grasp this hope we have, let us look at how it all started. Here is God, knowing our state of spiritual death. We have not known that unless that is revealed to us. We think, “Adam certainly sinned and was dead, but not me”. That is our thinking until truth is revealed to us. God sent Jesus into this world to reveal truth into the hearts of man so that … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P545 (06-18-20)

Synopsis

It is quite often that people read a passage of scripture that just does not seem very clear to them. Other scriptures they have read makes them think they have not properly understood that passage of scripture. So they call in to get clarification and understanding. There are several passages of scripture that are frequently asked even today. There are these passages in Romans 8 about election and predestination, and there is a whole erroneous theology people have come up with on that. Then you have this passage in the time Jesus was walking the earth prior to the cross in John 20:22-23, where Jesus said to receive the Holy spirit and that if you do not forgive someone their sins they are not forgiven. Then you have the one in Hebrews 10:26-27, about sinning against the knowledge of truth and the expectation of raging fire that consumes the enemies of God. Many a person has incorrectly understood this to mean you can lose your salvation.

So oftentimes, when people grow up in false teaching and theology, it takes time to unravel all the things that they have been taught. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Life in The Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P537 (05-21-20)

Synopsis

Knowing God and His word, the meaning of the word as revealed by the Spirit of God, is really useful for practical living.Sometimes you wonder what happens in religious denominations, if they even know God or His word. You have people who just do not think, believing the King James only bible, and those who are into legalism. It sure makes you wonder if they even have the Spirit, because if you have the Spirit living in you, you would think you would be led by the Spirit. You cannot be led by the spirit and be led by the law at the same time.

As a person led by the Spirit of God, you will begin to realize when something is not working, those old thinking patterns you used to have as a lost person. You might be struggling in your marriage. But little by little you hear truth, and that truth is maybe taught in a different way than how you have been taught in your local denomination you assemble with and it just helps you to walk free, in a new and different way.

Take for example, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is True Righteousness

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P58 (03-23-20)

Synopsis

We are in Romans 15. Bob George provides further background information in our study of Romans. He discusses how Jesus was a Jew, and so were all the apostles and prophets He raised up to bring he message of good news, the gospel, to all mankind. Just as today, you have religion in conflict or in contradiction to a real genuine relationship with the living God, through Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh. You had orthodox Jews and you had the conservative Jew, and you had the born again Jew. So too today. You have the religious people, the secular people, and the born again people, who came out from among all nations, peoples, and tongues. The gospel went to the Jew first, and then to the Gentile. That is why the Jew has a special place in the heart of a born again Gentile. It was through the apostle Paul, a Jew, that we have the scriptures in our own language today, so we might know God and His Son Jesus Christ, and come to know we have eternal life. With eternal life, we are made into a … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P54 (03-11-20)

Synopsis

In this world today, we hear a lot about not judging one another. Often times, people think judging someone is akin to someone hitting you in the face, and then tells you that you are judging him for hitting you in the face when that is clearly what he just did. You have a bloody nose to testify of that. Well, that is not judging. That is telling the truth. Judging is when you get into the motives of why someone hit you in the face. Well, this is the kind of judging Paul is addressing that was occurring in Romans, that believers should not be doing.

There is this judging going on over disputable matters, casting judgment on those whose faith is weak. What he is saying here is that there is such a thing as faith that is weak. What would weak faith be in comparison to strong faith? Weak faith would be believing that what you are doing is what is establishing your relationship with God. You ignored what God did for you. What is important to you is what I am doing for God. That is weak … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Do Not Harden Your Heart to Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P45 (02-19-20)

Synopsis

Although many people, among the Jews, rejected the message of the gospel, a remnant was saved. Many Jews did reject Christ Jesus as the Messiah. However, there is always a remnant that are willing to listen. The first people who came to Christ were Jewish people. Thousands heard the preaching of the apostle Peter, and the other apostles, and were saved. There are those who will have humble hearts, who will hear, believe and be saved.

Today, it seems, not many people want to listen to truth. Many people’s minds are made up, and do not realize the errors they have believed. They would rather hold on to their denominational belief system, but not test it out with the word of God to see if what is said is true. Few will even open a bible up to read it. I encourage you to read your bible, not to gather information, but to get to know the author, who is God. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to explain to you the meaning of it. Learn to ask questions of God. If you seek Him with all your heart, He … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
