~ But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets. And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:21-24

A child of God is righteous in the sight of God not based on anything they do, but EVERYTHING Jesus did. And when God looks at us, He sees Christ in us, through the Holy Spirit, and as such, we are to be who we are. Stop walking as the lost do. Stop listening to the flesh, that is stroked by satan and the things of the world today. Put off falsehood. ~ Put off your former way of life, your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be renewed in the spirit of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24

When we are placed into the body of Christ Jesus, and He has placed His Spirit into us, we are to stop focusing on our old self. That was the way we thought in the past, before we came to know Jesus and before the Holy Spirit came to live in us, but now we are to operate in the New self, the New Creation in Christ Jesus, through the Spirit who lives in you. Stop with the idea of doing it “my way.” Stop with the thinking that “I am always right.” Stop with the attitude that of propping myself up in the world. Stop with the pride of showing off.
