Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P489 (11-07-19)
An often asked question is for help finding a church in their area that is preaching truth. Sadly, this is becoming harder and harder even today. More and more people are staying at home and if they are fortunate, they are meeting in homes with like-minded people who love the truth of the word of God. They want to be in a place where they can be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith and to be guarded from error and walk free.
To those looking for truth, often times they do not know where to look. Yet God gave us His word so we can know the truth. But people are led astray to look for truth in the wrong places, or to form doctrine from books that are not even canon. The canon is the truth as determined within the first hundred years as to the books that are inspired of God, the scriptures, the 66 book of the bible we hold in our hands today. It is dangerous to form doctrine, the foundation of truth, from sources other than God’s word. Yet today, when you go to many churches, what they call bible studies are not really bible studies, but book studies.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P486 (10-25-19)
Bob George answers common questions asked by callers on forgiveness, woman pastors, and tithing. These questions come up very often today by many people. Many people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, the difference between law and grace or even how to walk freely in grace. Bob answers these kinds of questions by several different callers.
A common question asked is, “Did God forgive me of all my sins? Why then did the Lord in Matthew 6 say that if you do not forgive your brother who sins against you, neither will He forgive you?” When people ask such questions, it is often because they do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant that Jesus taught under, to people living under an Old Covenant, with the New Covenant, to born again people today, who live by grace. Jesus taught his disciples how to pray under an Old Covenant. When Jesus spoke, he spoke to those who trusted in the law to be right with God. So Jesus spoke to bury us under the law that we might seek a Savior and be saved by faith.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Nick: I was listening to someone preach the other day. He said you cannot be a cafeteria Christian. What he meant was that you cannot be a Christian that just picks and chooses scriptures and live accordingly. It is either all of the scripture or none of them.
Bob: Well, that is not true. You certainly do not want to be living under the Old Covenant when it has been replaced by the New Covenant. I do not know what his theology is. Let us take two scenarios. If he is saying that we are just as much under the Old Covenant as the New Covenant, then that person is out to lunch. If the Jews could not live under the Old Covenant, we cannot live under it either. That is why God came to replace the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant is obsolete, old and aging and will soon disappear. We do not live under the Old Covenant. We live under the New Covenant.

13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

So many people are in bondage due to error, whether from legalism or from false teaching or harsh, condemning words they believed to be true. Todd expressed the error he has heard from Baptist churches, that is really double talk, that only leads to being unstable in all your ways and living a defeated life. How can someone say you have to confess your sins to keep in fellowship with God and also say all your past, present and future sins have been forgiven? There is so much incorrect teaching from a poor translation of 1 John 1:9 and from passages in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, where people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant that the Jews and Jesus lived under and the New Covenant that Jesus spoke about. Because of such error, people are living defeated lives and certainly not the abundant life Jesus promised. Salvation is also not properly taught or understood.
Here is the problem. We stopped at the cross for salvation. The cross does not save anyone. The resurrection is what saves you. The cross was preparatory for salvation. It was something that had to take place in order to bring salvation to us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
