Paul BOLDLY Told it Like it Is!

~ “But Saul was empowered all the more and kept confounding the Judaeans [Ἰουδαίους (Ioudaious)] dwelling in Damascus, proving that this is [Jesus] the Christ.” Acts 9:22 When you boldly proclaim the Truth, the legalists will not like you. And when you continue to confound them, they will get very upset with you indeed. Here is a trustworthy saying, if a person is liked by most everyone in the world, rest assured that person is Not preaching TRUTH and is an enemy of God. “You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Sometimes we all just lack confidence in the truth. We may know the truth but because we have listened to so many different preachers, we are somewhat doubtful or confused, because what we are hearing from these preachers is contradicting what we are reading from the scriptures. We have been taught by the Lord, having studied the scriptures on their own for quite some time, and have a good handle on the truth, but sometimes we get off course. We now start questioning what all these preachers are saying. Listen as Bob George explains the basic foundational truth on what salvation is, in regard to faith alone in what Jesus accomplished by His death, burial and resurrection for us, and reminding a female caller of the proper understanding of baptism, which never saves anyone, and encouraging her to continue growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, as she has been doing, and letting her know she is on the right track.

What is your competence? Is it your ability to obtain a job? Your intellect? Your abilities? Your ability to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, to make yourself holy? Or is the competence that you have from God, the competence to proclaim that He has done it all for you, to proclaim the message of God’s grace? Do you realize you are made competent as a minister of the New Covenant (2 Corinthians 3:5-6)?

With the word of God, and the Spirit of God living in us, knowing the totality of the cross, the reality of the resurrection, and the fullness of what Christ did for us in all of that, regardless of whatever shortcomings there are in translations, you can know the meaning of the scriptures, and so much difficulty in understanding soon disappears. You come to realize that the word of God is divinely inspired, written down through the personalities of men, through the prophets and apostles, but with the full meaning of what God wanted to express to us, that we may put our faith in Him and have eternal life, the abundant life He promised us.

Synopsis

In order to be an apostle, you had to be someone who was with Jesus in the beginning, a witness of His baptism, death, burial and resurrection and ascension into heaven. Those were the men Jesus called apostles and gave the authority to represent Him here on earth initially, with the proclamation of the gospel, and then to select some of them to be writers of the New Testament. Those who wrote, wrote down what the Spirit of God living in them revealed as only what He wanted them to say.

Then we have the apostle Paul, the last of the apostles, almost too late for that, having not witnessed the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, but was appointed by God to be an apostle to the Gentiles. But He did have direct revelation from God and His message was affirmed by the apostles as of equal authority as their writings. Jesus Said I Am The Resurrection And The Life

Synopsis

If you were to ask somebody what is the meaning of the resurrection, what would they say? Is it to prove Jesus is alive? But what does His resurrection mean to you personally? Recall what the apostle Paul said to the Corinthians. If Christ Jesus was not raised, then we are still dead in our sins and our faith is futile.

So, let us look more closely at the events surrounding his resurrection. If you closely at his burial and how a cloth was wrapped around his head, and 75 pounds of spices put on his body, and a large stone placed around the entrance that takes many strong men to move, and then Roman guards in place at the entrance to ensure that no one steals his body away, there is absolute overwhelming evidence he was dead.
