Jesus Said I Am The Resurrection And The Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P41 (01-26-21)

Synopsis

If you were to ask somebody what is the meaning of the resurrection, what would they say? Is it to prove Jesus is alive? But what does His resurrection mean to you personally? Recall what the apostle Paul said to the Corinthians. If Christ Jesus was not raised, then we are still dead in our sins and our faith is futile.

So, let us look more closely at the events surrounding his resurrection. If you closely at his burial and how a cloth was wrapped around his head, and 75 pounds of spices put on his body, and a large stone placed around the entrance that takes many strong men to move, and then Roman guards in place at the entrance to ensure that no one steals his body away, there is absolute overwhelming evidence he was dead.

Then you hear the report from eyewitnesses, that we read about in the gospels, of what they saw when they entered the tomb some three days later. You have Joanna, Mary the mother of James and the others with them who told the apostles that the tomb was empty. An … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Wants to Give You His Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P589 (11-19-20)

Synopsis

As long as we live here on this earth in our flesh, we will face this conflict between what the flesh desires and what the Spirit desires. This is due to the sin-indwelling flesh we inherited in Adam that always wants to demand its own way. But we died to its control over us when we were born again. The Spirit of God took residence in us, and so we have a new identity as a child of God, learning to walk by faith, listening to the Spirit’s voice. The Spirit lives in us to teach us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions.

When we were born again, the flesh did not die but what did die is our identity as a sinner, from being a slave to sin to being set free in grace. We have been set free from the law of sin and death and have now been put under control of a new master. Sin still indwells our flesh but we don’ t have to be mastered by it. We have the choice to be under the Spirit’s control. We do so not because … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Light of The World and Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P20 (11-17-20)

Synopsis

As you read prophecy fulfilled, think beyond just that it happened and that it was fulfilled in Christ Jesus. Ask the Lord to reveal to you the meaning of the word of God to you, a spiritual meaning, a spiritual lesson that you can grab a hold of.

Oftentimes we read about the Pharisees or Judas Iscariot, and we might think we would never be like them. But, do you get caught up in the present affairs of this world, of unfolding events like you read about in Revelation. Instead of keeping your focus on Christ, you want to take matters into your own hands. Well, what if Jesus was walking here today, and you were so focused on your own agenda, to make America free. You do not like the way events are unfolding. So you let anger creep inside of you, and you decide to take matters into your own hands. You manipulate leaders and people to do your bidding, and get behind a leader to act in a certain way. But that leader has a different agenda. He does not take action like you expect.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Love Patient and Kind

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P42 (07-22-20)

Synopsis

As you have gone through this definition of love, and asked yourself, “How well am I doing?” I think you will think you will come to the same conclusion I did. I cannot put myself anywhere in that list. That love can only be a definition of God. I must conclude that “I cannot, but God can”. So I turn my focus back on Christ Jesus, and have to rely on Him. I say, “I am weak, but He is strong.” I have to say, “Christ is my life. He is my only hope of glory.”

As I ponder over this, I must ask the Lord to work His way in me, that this love, that is a fruit of the Spirit, is produced in me and through me. Do I keep a record of how someone wronged me, pondering over a painful memory and not letting it go, or bringing it back in my mind, so I am hindered in giving out unconditional love to someone else? Am I hard on myself because I failed to act in love? Has God changed His attitude and … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Believe Jesus Took Away All Your Sins

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P23 (06-09-20)

Synopsis

In this world today, of riots and pillaging and murder in the streets, is that something that should shock us, as if that would never happen, in a world of sin and death? God said that in this world you will have trials and tribulations. So what happens when we do not hold onto the truth of what God has said? Do we even realize that there is an enemy called Satan, or have we been deceived into thinking he does not exist? If we think he does not exist, then who do people tend to blame? Do they not tend to blame God for causing or allowing these things to happen? Do we have unrealistic expectations, expectations different than what God told us to expect to happen? So why is this faith in Christ so vital for us to walk in, to believe what God has said and to act upon that belief?

But what else has God promised us. He said that He has overcome the world. And in Him there is peace that surpasses understanding. And, he said that He will cause all … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Do Not Harden Your Heart to Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P45 (02-19-20)

Synopsis

Although many people, among the Jews, rejected the message of the gospel, a remnant was saved. Many Jews did reject Christ Jesus as the Messiah. However, there is always a remnant that are willing to listen. The first people who came to Christ were Jewish people. Thousands heard the preaching of the apostle Peter, and the other apostles, and were saved. There are those who will have humble hearts, who will hear, believe and be saved.

Today, it seems, not many people want to listen to truth. Many people’s minds are made up, and do not realize the errors they have believed. They would rather hold on to their denominational belief system, but not test it out with the word of God to see if what is said is true. Few will even open a bible up to read it. I encourage you to read your bible, not to gather information, but to get to know the author, who is God. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to explain to you the meaning of it. Learn to ask questions of God. If you seek Him with all your heart, He … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
