Synopsis

When you become born again, all things become new. Yes, there is growth, a renewing of the mind that has to occur, and will occur. We have an enemy, called Satan, that speaks through to our flesh. We learn to recognize the voice of God and what truth is, so that we can demolish those strongholds, those lies of Satan, and begin to walk in the new life God has given. God is tender toward us, and we have been given a new identity, called a child of God.

That new identity we have, a child of God, not a sinner saved by grace or an ex-convict, but a child of God, and when you grasp that truth, that is the starting point in which growth occurs. When you realize that God will never leave you or forsake, and loves and accepts you unconditionally, then that is an anchor to your soul. If error is what binds you, then truth is what sets you free.

Synopsis

Depression is one of the most common struggles people face. All of us face depression from time to time, and sometimes it grabs a hold of you and essentially cripples you from living free as God intended, full of joy and a peace that surpasses understanding. When you recognize that it is primarily a thinking problem rather than a disease or sickness, then you are on the starting point of walking free. You can start replacing the error in your thinking with truth.

With depression, we often are triggered by an emotional pain, an insult or a rejection from someone. Then you dwell on those thoughts in your head, but instead of relying on truth, you rely on feelings. Then instead of going to God for the answer in His word, you resort to other substitutes that make the flesh feel good. Oftentimes those things we gravitate to are only temporary and fleeting and are not real solutions, but often make the problem worse and fuel our depression. Synopsis

Salvation is receiving life, not a temporal life, but God’s life called eternal life. The only one who has God’s life to give is Jesus, who is God in the flesh. Salvation is coming to Christ for what He came to give us, Himself, Christ, that life of His Son, a life called eternal life.

The most basic problem of man is that he is dead to God, and in need of new spiritual life. He has a human spirit that is very much alive to this world, but dead to God. So unless a man is born again, spiritually, a new birth by God Himself through the Spirit of God, then you remain dead. The wrath of God against sin is death, and we were all born dead. So if we fail to come to Christ, we do not become dead, we remain dead, in the current condition we are in.

Jesus Christ is the criteria for truth, for He even identified Himself as the way, the truth and the life. And the most reliable information we have of what He said has been written down for us through those who were eyewitnesses, who walked and talked with Him when Jesus walked this earth. This is the bible, composed of 66 individual books, that we can hold in our hands. As you ponder the pages of scripture, relying on the Spirit to teach you, that is how you come to know what truth is.

But if you want to know what truth is, you first need to know who Jesus Christ is, not just about Him, but receive what He came to give. He came to give you the Holy Spirit, who He is, to come to live inside you. Who can understand the things of God, the things Jesus said that only He would know about since He came from heaven? Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P10 (10-26-20)

Synopsis

The religious mind is still bent upon establishing a righteousness of their own. But God came that we might receive His righteousness. At such a point in time in history, a person understands what God did for him through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He knows the meaning of what Jesus Christ alone accomplished for him and enters into a relationship with the living God. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, to be made complete in Christ. When you are born again, you have been made complete in Christ.

All of God is in Christ and all of Christ is living in you, if you are born again. Christ was all the fullness in bodily form, receiving all of his resources from God the Father, and now I have been given that completeness and fullness in Christ. You have the fullness of God living in you. That is what makes you complete.

As you grow in Christ, you will certainly have questions. It is so good to be able to talk to a person who has been in Christ longer than you have and has proven to rightly divide the word of God. Yes, and if he is a solid teacher, he is not going to merely teach you what he thinks, but will point you to Christ and the scriptures so you can see for yourself what God has said. Then, you, having the Spirit of God in you, are in a position to allow the Spirit to reveal truth to you. That is how we all grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we come to understand the meaning of God’s word, then we are able to take every thought captive to the obedience to Christ and are not easily swayed by the opinions or traditions of men, those who have fine sounding arguments but yet not based on truth. So then we are no longer tossed and turned by every wind of doctrine, but become stable in our faith and productive in our walk.
