So many people call in and ask questions about salvation. They are often confused by what they hear in their particular denomination or various preachers on television. Again, it is so important to rely on the holy spirit to reveal truth to you through the scriptures He has given to us through the prophets and apostles, who were eyewitnesses, when Jesus was alive walking on this earth. Ultimately, that is where truth has to come, from the Spirit of God in Jesus, who Himself is God in the flesh.

So often we hear from people that you can lose your salvation or that you have to do something to keep yourself right with God, or you have to be obedient to the law so as to keep in God’s grace or to do some religious practice to get more grace. All of that is simply not true. If anyone says you can lose your salvation then they do not know what salvation is. Synopsis

Have you thought about what Jesus accomplished for us? Did you know that we have already been reconciled, and that before you were ever born. Wait a minute, you ask, “Does that mean everyone is saved, or born again?” No. “What are you saying then?” When Jesus died on that cross, he took away the sins of the entire world. That is a necessary part for salvation. It was preparation for life to be given, but until someone receives that life they are not born again because he does not have the Spirit of God living in him. The complete gospel is the meaning of his death, burial and resurrection. Let us move on from the cross and onto the resurrection.

Synopsis

Follow along in the 13^th chapter of John, as Jesus is soon going to be arrested and ultimately go to the cross and then to the victory of the resurrection. This is the time of Jesus in his last days. He is going to teach the most important elements of his entire ministry. If you or I knew we had only a few weeks left to live, we would probably give the most important instructions to the ones we love. So it is with Jesus.

Jesus is in a rented room, having the last meal he would ever have on earth with his disciples. He, being the creator of all things, God in the flesh, stoops down and washes the disciples feet. Synopsis

Salvation is not about how sinful we are but how dead we are. Often times, all you hear from the pulpit is how sinful you are. Yes, sin is the cause of death, but death is worse than sin. But what you often erroneously hear is to come down an altar to get your sins forgiven. Well, I got news for you. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, but getting new life, God’s life.

Why is salvation not getting your sins forgiven? Well, that is the preparation part of it. Jesus already died to take away the sins of the entire world. His shed blood was once and for all, never to be repeated again, and was all sufficient to take away God’s wrath against all sin, sins from all eternity, past and future, for all men! So if getting sins forgiven is salvation, then everybody is saved already, and that would be called universal salvation. But that is not salvation that saves. Salvation is receiving new life.

Bob George received a call from Jim who simply asked if love is more important than faith. Bob answered from scripture that love indeed is greater than faith because love is from God and God is love. God initiated love to us and we respond to that love in faith. So faith is man’s response to love. Do we accept his love or do we reject it? Do we even understand that love? Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love.

Bob George also received a call from a young college lady, Lynn, who had found herself in an unwanted situation. She had committed fornication and is now pregnant.
