Synopsis

People often call to get answers on topical questions of life. Sometimes when they go to a certain denomination to visit, or have been there awhile, things just do not make sense. What is this about receiving a second baptism of the spirit or having to speak in tongues in order to be saved? People begin to ask those questions, especially as they begin to grow in the Lord. As you read God’s word, where Paul discusses this topic of tongues in 1 Corinthians, you understand that what people are doing is promoting error and teaching error.

First of all, you cannot get more of the Spirit than what you already have. When you have Christ in you, you have all of Christ and He says He will never leave you or forsake you. The Holy Spirit is sealed in you for the day of redemption. He does not leak out so as if you need to get more. And if He, who is eternal, is in you, then how can you lose what is sealed in you? Jesus Came to Give You Life

Synopsis

It takes time to grow and mature in Christ. Oftentimes, when you have been a Christian awhile, you will hear common questions being asked by many people, generation after generation. Certain verses or passages of scripture, when not understood in its context, in the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ, being under a New Covenant, not under an Old Covenant, you are likely to have a faulty interpretation of scripture. The key to understanding, first of all, is to be born again of the Spirit. Assuming that is so, then you have the mind of Christ, and the Spirit will lead you into truth.

The problem that many people have is that they rely on denominational persuasions of men. They listen to too many preachers out there, and do not get into the word of God themselves. Ask the Spirit of God to reveal the meaning of the word of God to you. He is the only one you can rely on to reveal the truth, the meaning of the word of God, to you.

Faith is Believing What Jesus Has Done

Synopsis

Many times people called on the Classic Christianity radio program to get clarification and understanding. One of the most common things people call in about is that they are confused about this deal on forgiveness of sins. When you sin, are you supposed to confess those sins to God and ask for forgiveness? What is sin? Are there different categories of sin, such as positional and what about the future sins I do? These questions reveal a serious lack of understanding of something so vitally important as to what salvation is.

Bob answers the common questions that are asked today. Many times people attend a certain denomination but do not check out if what is being taught is true. If you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit living in you. So now, you have the mind of Christ and can discern the things of God. But do you read God’s word so that your mind can be renewed? How do you know if Bob George, or whoever you listen to, is teaching you correctly? How do you know if your pastor or Sunday school or denominational persuasion is teaching you correctly? You cannot know if you do not open up the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Many times we will let our children see something on television, listening to some self proclaimed experts, who proclaim things as if they are true. A parent came home to find out his 14 year old son being taken in on someone speaking from the gospel of Judas. First of all, we do not know who wrote the book of Judas.
