The Law of Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P40 (05-10-21)

Synopsis

The one thing people are looking for is unconditional love and acceptance. We cannot give that to someone else, not in the energy of our flesh. So much marital strife is because one spouse has unrealistic expectations on another, expecting their partner to provide what he or she is unable to provide. Yet, the Lord Jesus Christ commands us to love one another just as He loved us. So what is Jesus saying to us? Is He telling us to do something that is impossible for us to do? Yes and no, because it is not us doing it.

The key to the Christian life is a life of dependency, of trust in the one who loves you perfectly, and only God can do that, for God is love. Jesus, as the second Adam, modeled perfectly for us how we are to live. He limited Himself in the use of His divine attributes in a manner that we would have to relate to God, after having the Spirit placed in us at a new spiritual birth. Was it not from His complete dependency upon His Father? … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Work of Ministry is to Believe in Jesus

Classic Christianity – Thanksgiving Part 2 (11-26-19)

Synopsis

Where are you in this coming up Thanksgiving season? Are you in a season of your life now where you are free to talk with your mother or your father? Or is that relationship strained? Do you have brothers and sisters in Christ whom you can be with? Well, you are blessed. God tells us to be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. What does that mean? God sees you and rejoices with you when you rejoice but He also grieves with you when you grieve. He is always available for help in time of need. And there is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding because you know Him. You have understood and entered the Sabbath rest with God. That is why we can be thankful. We learn patience and endurance through the things we struggle, the trial and tribulations of life, humbly depending on the Holy Spirit of God, who leads us from within, as a child of God. That is why we can boast in our weaknesses, for when we are weak, He is strong.

Do Not Refuse Jesus For Life

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 70 (09-10-19)

Transcript

We are so prone to follow for what He can give us. They followed him when he fed the five thousand. Why? The next day Jesus said to them, “The only reason you are following me is because you were fed on the other side of the lake”.

I have seen this again and again so many times in people today. In church work, working down on the streets, a guy says, “Give me a meal. What do I need to do? Get baptized. Lead me to the water”. So he gets baptized to get a meal and not to get Jesus. Thousands of times people take advantage of that to get numbers to their credit. The only reason they went to the water was to get a meal and not to get Jesus. You have to have discernment on that kind of thing to determine if they are sincere or just following you to get a meal. That is one of the dangers of just giving a meal. All you have accomplished is satisfying someone’s hunger for a couple of hours. You have not accomplished anything.

Others say you have to be baptized, and in a certain denomination by a certain person. Bob then explains from scripture that salvation is being saved from the wages of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is eternal life in Jesus Christ. Bob then elaborates on how people have not grasped the concept that God does not punish us for sin since all the punishment of sin was placed on Jesus. Bob then explains how Christians are persecuted by the world. That in this world it is inevitable that persecution will come.

Bob George Teaching

Welcome to Classic Christianity radio with Bob George, where Bob’s clear and timeless teachings on the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus Christ will transform your life as you learn about God’s amazing grace. Let’s join Bob as he teaches us from God’s word.

Bob shares from scripture about the role of pastors and teachers, as gifts to the church, to equip the saints for the work of ministry. From scripture Bob explains what the work of ministry really is, to believe in Jesus. So the work of a teacher or pastor is the same work of an evangelist, prophet, or apostle, with the only difference being the audience of primary focus. That is, the primary audience for an evangelist is the lost whereas for the pastor or teacher, is the church. Bob continues to explain what a Christian is, that is, what it means to be saved, to have new life in Jesus Christ. Bob elaborates on how a lost person thinks about what a Christian is; about being good or bad, or belonging to a certain church, or being baptized by a certain person or … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
