~ Most today do not understand what the word of God means. Oh, many can repeat what the word of God says, but they do not have a clue what the word of God means. The reason they do not understand, is because they do not have the Spirit of Truth living in them. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and He will share with you ALL Truth if you are willing to listen to Him. However, there are many times, even as a true child of God, that we either lean on our own understanding of things, or go to some commentary (regardless of who is actually doing the commenting), even if it is someone that we trust, to try and get some insight on the Truth of the word of God. Scripture tells us that we who are in Christ, and Christ is in us, then we have the mind of God living in us. And He is the one that we ought to trust for ALL Truth. We hear so many times, a mixed message gospel, which is no gospel at all. Many pastors and teachers will tell people all their sins are forgiven by Jesus, and then they will tell people to ask for forgiveness from God at the end of a prayer or as a summation. What people fail to realize is they are subjecting Jesus Christ to public disgrace. They are crucifying the Son of God over and over again as though the first time wasn’t good enough. They are not living by faith. Faith says thank you (confess) to God. Unbelief is asking for what God has already done.

Faith is one of those words used or heard but do we know what it means? Hebrews 11 defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This “hope for” is not a “hope so”, but a firm trust in what God has guaranteed us in His Son. We put our trust in what God accomplished for us in Christ Jesus, in what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for us.

But not everyone has heard or understood what Jesus accomplished for us.
