Present With The Lord

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P482 (10-16-19)

Synopsis

What is so hard to take is when someone you love dies. Also in the world today, events are unfolding in Israel and there seems to be an increasing frequency of floods and earthquakes. The callers today asked these kinds of questions: What about my loved ones that have died before me? Will I ever see them again? If they are born again, will they get their new glorified bodies at the rapture or immediately when they die? Are we in the end times? How should I be prepared for death or end time events?

Callers also asked questions for clarity on understanding a passage of scripture. One caller asked, “Who wrote the book of Hebrews?” Another caller asked, in regards to John 14:1, “who do we pray to, Jesus or God?” In regards to Matthew 12:43-46, another caller was wondering about casting out demons today, like people that say they do exorcisms?

Jesus Said It Is Finished

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P473 (9-13-19)

Synopsis

Logan from New Orleans, LA

Logan: I have a question about Hebrews 6. I understand you cannot lose salvation but when I read this I do not understand.

Hebrews 6:4-6
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

Bob: This is talking to the very people who think they can lose salvation. Hebrew 10 is dealing with this issue. The book was written to Hebrews. How do the Hebrews get their sins forgiven prior to Christ? The day of atonement. They sacrifice animals. They went back to the day of atonement to get their sins forgiven. Once Christ took away the sins of the entire world when he went to the cross, do you still go back to the day of atonement to get sins forgiven?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Initiator

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P433 (4-19-19)

These callers called in to the original People to People radio program Bob George was on for over 30 years. Most of the questions were to get clarification of truth on some commonly misunderstood passages of scripture. Laurie asked, “Where do you place Melchizedek in Hebrews 6:16?” Oftentimes by simply reading the verses before and after a scripture that is unclear to you, you can discern what is important to understand in a passage. We often want to focus on a very narrow point rather than get the spiritual truth that Jesus wants you to know. Bob emphasized that Hebrews is about explaining the superiority of Jesus Christ. To the Jew, there is no one greater than Abraham. Hebrews clears this matter up by explaining that Melchizedek is greater than Abraham and Jesus s greater than everyone.

Edwin asked a very common question, typical of those who are new believers or those improperly instructed from religious teaching. He asked what is the difference between baptism of water and baptism of the Holy Spirit. By studying the scriptures the answer is very clear. John the Baptist even spoke of two baptisms in Luke 3:15-17.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Mystery of God

Classic Christianity Radio (02-27-19) – The Mystery of God Part 3

Bob George continues sharing from Ephesians a mystery that has now been revealed to the Gentiles. In this mystery is the gospel message of God’s grace, applicable to all men, Hebrew and Gentile, that in Christ all will be made holy and blameless before God. The wall of hostility between Hebrews and Gentiles has been set aside.

Romans 3:9-12
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Hebrews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who  seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

Romans 3:21-23
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Hebrew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Bob George Radio

Bob George answers calls from listeners for over 30 years on People to People to radio, providing practical biblical insights to help them experience faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ. The first caller, Lauren, had a question about why Melchizedek is mentioned in Hebrews. Bob addresses his question by explaining the reason Hebrews is written. Thee second caller, Edwin, asked a question about the reason for water baptism and baptism of the Holy Spirit. Bob answers by explaining the meaning of being baptized of the Holy Spirit, and only that baptism saves you. The third caller, Mark, asked a question with his 8 year old daughter on the line, about children and salvation. Bob answered by stating that knowing the nature of God as perfectly loving and justice, then it is not something we need to be concerned about. The next caller Todd, asked a specific question about John 20:23 and about Ananias in the book of Acts dropping dead. Bob answered both questions by looking at the scriptures more closely so as to guide into correct interpretation and not formulating a conclusion that is not stated in the scriptures. Bob also noted that translation are not always as clear as they ought and the verb tense in a translation can sometimes steer someone into an improper interpretation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
