Depression is very common to man and by knowing God and His word, you can overcome depression. Common questions often asked are about love, Satan, and clarification on various passages in the bible. Jim called to ask, “Is love more important than faith?”. Mike asked if a man can give their soul to Satan in order to become a good guitar player. Laurie asked about this strange character in the bible named Melchizedek. Laurie asked, “Where do you place Melchizedek?”.

Randy was calling out of great depression for he is overwhelmed with his present circumstance; a job loss, separation from his wife and his wife dying from cancer. She is struggling with pride, not wanting her husband to feel sorry for her, which is one reason for the separation. Bob encourages him to do what he can to restore the relationship to his wife. Randy is an honorable man, and wants to do so. Jesus Gives Life to the Dead

Synopsis

The disciples are with Jesus for three years but not understanding these things that Jesus had come to do. How could they? They did not have the Holy Spirit living in them. We do not naturally understand these things. We can be in church all our lives. We can hear about Jesus birth, his death, and that he died and was raised from the dead yet we ourselves can still be dead to the things of God. We could still be spiritually dead. Do you know your condition of spiritual death? Do you know that Jesus is God? Do you know He wants to live inside you by His spirit? Do you now what his death did for you personally? Do yo know why he rose from the dead for you? Do you know why he went back to His Father in heaven? Do you know he did these things in order to give life to you so you can live a new way?

Synopsis

As we continue in the book of John, we come to rely on the Holy Spirit to teach us Truth. For apart from him, we can do nothing. Indeed, we cannot even understand the things of God without the Spirit of God living in us. He will guide us into all truth and lead us as we let Him. Are we listening to Him? Do we hear His voice?

Consider a tsunami that takes the lives of men. Where are the animals? Not one is recorded as being killed? Who told the animal to go to the high ground? God’s Spirit is living in us, who have believed the message of Christ, and surely His voice is stronger than the voice of instinct that He speaks to the animals! God does speak to us today.

Have you ever been prompted by the Holy Spirit to pick up the phone and call someone? Synopsis

In the book of John, we have recorded down for us many conversations Jesus had with men as he walked this earth. He came to speak truth into the hearts of men. He performed miracles, that God wanted to do through him, in order that we might be willing to listen to the word of life he proclaimed. He spoke to Mary and Martha, whose brother Lazarus had died. Jesus told them that he is the resurrection and the life. Many Jews heard the message of truth, believed and spread the word. So many more people followed Jesus and listened to what he had to say. The religious leaders of the day, the Pharisees, who heard, were not excited about the truth, or even that Lazarus had just been raised from the dead.

Still today, there are those who would rather go after Jesus, and speak about Jesus they do not know. Where do you go to learn the truth about Jesus? From the religious leaders? There are some fine seminaries that speak the truth but how would you know the truth when you hear it? Jesus Makes us Brand New

Sherry and John both called to ask questions that are so common even in the world still today. Sherry say she tries hard through prayer and seeks God to get God’s mercy through whatever means, such as prayer, and she is stuck. John asked about passages in John 1:9 as to who it was written to and about a passage in Hebrews where so many teach that you can lose your salvation. He also asked, “Does the Holy Spirit convict you of sin when you do wrong?”

Sherry would not let her mind get off the past rejection or bad things that happened in her life and would not believe God’s word over the lies in her head she has heard from out in the world. She says she has known the Lord for over 30 years but struggles in allowing herself to have mercy and knowing the good news. She says she seeks these things. That is her source of error and Bob is so patient with her to help her see her faulty thinking. All of us are in continual need of replacing error with truth in our lives, and that will be true until the day we die. The real question is, “Do we want to get well?” That is why it is so good to hear people call in with their questions, for this is an avenue in which the body of Christ can be built up and grow. Others call to receive advice to deal with circumstances in their life that they do not know how to resolve. That is why we are placed in the body of Christ, to help and encourage one another. Other callers simply call to get clarification on a passage of scripture that they are struggling to understand its meaning. In the process of sharing truth with one another, we learn more about God’s love for us.

Francisco called on behalf of a friend of his, that although he was delivered from a lot of things, he said he could not stop smoking cigarettes. He also said that because of this he could not pray or study the word.
