Faith Says Thank You to God Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P640 (06-04-21)

Synopsis

People have grown up under, or have heard, all kinds of teachings of men, whether Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian or Pentecostal or any number of denominations out there. Now on a matter of such eternal importance as salvation, sadly the message is not proclaimed clearly or even accurately. You may have heard all kinds of phrases like, “Once saved, always saved”, “Sacraments are necessary for salvation”, that salvation is a process that you have to go through, “You have to be baptized in order to be saved.” or that “Salvation is getting your sins forgiven.” It is so sad that the gospel of salvation is not proclaimed clearly and accurately as it ought to be! Not only that, even when it is proclaimed on one Sunday it is undermined by double-talk when a preacher teaches 1 John 1:9 out of context and uses it to tell people to ask God to forgive them when they sin so as to keep short accounts with God and to keep in fellowship with God. So in reality, the message proclaimed often by a Protestant denomination is not any different than a Catholic saying you … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Believe Jesus Took Away All Your Sins

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P23 (06-09-20)

Synopsis

In this world today, of riots and pillaging and murder in the streets, is that something that should shock us, as if that would never happen, in a world of sin and death? God said that in this world you will have trials and tribulations. So what happens when we do not hold onto the truth of what God has said? Do we even realize that there is an enemy called Satan, or have we been deceived into thinking he does not exist? If we think he does not exist, then who do people tend to blame? Do they not tend to blame God for causing or allowing these things to happen? Do we have unrealistic expectations, expectations different than what God told us to expect to happen? So why is this faith in Christ so vital for us to walk in, to believe what God has said and to act upon that belief?

But what else has God promised us. He said that He has overcome the world. And in Him there is peace that surpasses understanding. And, he said that He will cause all … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

God Jesus Rewards You Through Faith in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P9 (05-06-20)

Synopsis

Now, let us delve into what faith is. Let us explain with illustrations, of what it is and what it is not. Let us look at the example of Abraham’s faith and Mary’s faith. Faith is like the engine of a train and we being the caboose. Faith is what directs our path and the caboose follows. The caboose never pulls the train. It has no power to do so. Neither do we muster up faith to tell God what to do. No, we simply let faith lead us and we follow in complete trust.

There are other illustrations but one thing for sure is that faith is not a feeling. Feelings do not pull us. Faith does. It is the substance of things not seen. Feeling is not a substance. It is stupid. It only responds predictably to what is put in the mind. So when Jesus tells us not to worry, He is really telling us to guard what we put in our mind and to guard what we hear. Is what we hear based on truth, on what God has said, or is … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is True Righteousness

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P58 (03-23-20)

Synopsis

We are in Romans 15. Bob George provides further background information in our study of Romans. He discusses how Jesus was a Jew, and so were all the apostles and prophets He raised up to bring he message of good news, the gospel, to all mankind. Just as today, you have religion in conflict or in contradiction to a real genuine relationship with the living God, through Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh. You had orthodox Jews and you had the conservative Jew, and you had the born again Jew. So too today. You have the religious people, the secular people, and the born again people, who came out from among all nations, peoples, and tongues. The gospel went to the Jew first, and then to the Gentile. That is why the Jew has a special place in the heart of a born again Gentile. It was through the apostle Paul, a Jew, that we have the scriptures in our own language today, so we might know God and His Son Jesus Christ, and come to know we have eternal life. With eternal life, we are made into a … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Live on The Right Side of The Cross

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P512 (02-14-20)

Synopsis

How hard it is to grasp this concept of grace! When you are lost, you just cannot understand that there is nothing you can do to make yourself acceptable to God. But many believers also struggle with this concept of grace that is spoken of in the New Covenant that God ushered in after his death, burial and resurrection. Even your best efforts fall short. Why? You are striving in the energy of your flesh, and not living under grace.

The reaction that a lost person often has upon first hearing a message of grace is, “What do you mean there is nothing I can do to make myself acceptable to God? I have tried to obey the law.” A believer also does not always fully understand grace either. Often, upon reading God’s word, their mind is confused for awhile. They have not understood the words of Jesus in the Lord’s prayer, what Jesus said when he said, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Often times, so many modern churches today co-mingle law and grace. That compounds the problem and hinders people from growing in grace. Recall in … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Faith Says Thank You to God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P15 (11-20-19)

Synopsis

Have you ever tried to share the gospel with those who have been taught from their traditions hundreds of years? How hard it is to tell someone that everything they have been taught is wrong! So many people today are still approaching righteousness with God based on what they do. This is the same thing Paul faced sharing truth with the Jewish people. They claimed they believed in Moses and have Abraham as their father. The Jews took offense at the fact that the Gentiles, the heathen, idol worshiping Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have received righteousness, and yet they, who work at obeying the law, have not received righteousness from God. Why not? They pursued a righteousness as if by works of the law and not by faith.

So Paul appeals to the Jews, those of his own race and upbringing, to consider what Abraham believed? Abraham believed God and his faith was credited to him as righteousness, and that before the law was given, before he was even circumcised. In those days, circumcision is not unlike baptism of today. It was a sign of someone’s faith. The sign … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
