Bob answers questions from John, Rich, Mark and Ron, callers from four different states. John was calling to get advice, or rather for encouragement to do the right thing, in regards to what he had been doing in supporting his niece and her husband. They are unmarried and unbelievers living in sin, and now have three children. John has been enabling a bum and an irresponsible father and that must stop. John has been enabling them. Rich called to ask about how to really forgive someone who has wronged you and the associated feelings that go along with not being able to forgive someone. If Jesus is in you, and He is your life, and He has forgiven him then you forgive him. It is really the love of Jesus, being attached to Him, that any love and forgiveness from us is produced. And do let Satan mess you up with lies. Feelings respond to whatever thoughts you are pondering over. Several callers called in. Karen called about end time events and if there is any measuring stick to know when the time of the rapture is near. Bob emphasized the importance of not getting bogged down into end time events, particularly speculation and arguments, which are not beneficial to anyone, and certainly not at the expense of living your life in the Spirit with faith expressing itself in love. Another caller Rene asked about people prophesying over men by laying hands on them telling what God had said concerning them. Bob emphatically stated that is dangerous akin to fortune-telling and to stay away from people like that. He also said there is no more new knowledge for the canon of scripture is closed and all we need to know is in the scriptures. Tarrance asked questions pertaining to salvation. Bob explained the gospel quite clearly and said that many only teach about sin, sin and sin and never speak of the resurrection. Bob receives calls from several people about asking for forgiveness. They are hearing from friends or those in church that say you need to ask God for forgiveness whenever you sin. Bob explains how this kind of thinking comes from denominational teaching and often from a misinterpretation of 1 John 1:9. Bob explains the false teaching of the Gnostic that were there at the time these scriptures were being written and that group, along with the Judaizers, is the group of unsaved people the Apostle John is initially talking to. In essence, John is saying: “If you ever come to your senses, and I doubt if you ever will, but just in case you do, Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, he is faithful and just to have forgiven you of your sins and to have cleansed you of all unrighteousness.
