Getting Common Questions Answered; Receiving Forgiveness of Sins that Has Already Been Done by Jesus; What About the Rapture and Cremation; Why Is the World Getting Worse; How Do You Introduce the Gospel to People

Many times people call the radio program to get clarification on this topic of forgiveness because wherever they go they hear so much on this interpretation on 1 John 1:9, that says that when you sin you must confess your sin to stay in fellowship with God. They may have also heard it said that you need to keep short accounts with God, so as soon as you sin you need to confess that sin to get forgiveness from God. Some pastors will call that parental or experiential sin in contrast to those positional sins that Jesus forgave at the cross so we can have this so-called positional standing with God.

All of this is double-talk, not in accordance with the meaning of the word of God, in conflict with so many other passages of scripture that clearly explain what Jesus accomplished on the cross. All This Is From God; Come Alive in Christ Jesus; Stop Doubting and Believe; Take God at His Word; Set Aside the Teachings and Traditions of Men

Have you understood the totality of the cross and the reality of the resurrection? If you do, you cannot help but marvel and be overwhelmed with God’s great love for you, and respond with astounding gratitude and worship. You would be so in love with the Lord, who did all this for you! That is our only response to all this is from God.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19

Have You Understood the Finality of the Cross: Are You a Follower Of Christ but Not Born Again? Are You a Professor or a Possessor of Christ?

I once heard someone born in England once say that anyone born in America is a Christian. Some people think that if you go to church then you are a Christian? What do people really mean when they ask if you are a Christian? Are they really just asking to see if you are a good person, towing the line of expectations of men? That you go to a denomination that they approve as the one true church? I have heard Mormons say they are Christians too? I have heard Catholics say they are Christians too? Regardless of the denomination, sitting in a church does not make you a Christian any more than sitting in a hen house makes you a chicken. And who is Jesus to you? Is he merely a political leader? Is he just a prophet like other prophets? Was he just a good and noble man who was martyred for a just cause? When we are born again, we have the Holy Spirit living in us, but we also have sin-indwelling flesh. So there is this battle between the flesh and the spirit (Galatians 5:16-18). But as we learn to walk in the Spirit, we do not carry out the deeds of the flesh. We have in us everything we need for life and godliness so we can participate in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4). One hindrance we have in spiritual growth is the error and lies we have believed. Error is replaced with truth as we meditate on God’s word, relying on the Lord to renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2). His word is truth (John 17:17), and Jesus, who is the living Word (John 1:1,14), tells us that the truth shall set you free (John 8:32).

How many times do we see people stream down the aisles in order to receive Christ where their only understanding was I am going to come down to keep from going to hell? Then you leave that experience like you would on the day of atonement feeling good, but then the big question comes. What happens when I sin tomorrow or on the way back to the pew? I went forward and got my sins forgiven, but I just sinned on the way back to the pew. Then there is someone who will quote 1 John 1:9 as necessary to stay in fellowship with God, that you must ask God to forgive you when you sin. What is Salvation? Death to Life

So many people call in and ask questions about salvation. They are often confused by what they hear in their particular denomination or various preachers on television. Again, it is so important to rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you through the scriptures He has given to us through the prophets and apostles, who were eyewitnesses, when Jesus was alive walking on this earth. Ultimately, that is where truth has to come, from the Spirit of God in Jesus, who Himself is God in the flesh.

So often we hear from people that you can lose your salvation or that you have to do something to keep yourself right with God, or you have to be obedient to the law so as to keep in God’s grace or to do some religious practice to get more grace. All of that is simply not true. If anyone says you can lose your salvation then they do not know what salvation is. If anyone says that salvation depends on what you do then he does not understand salvation.
