Bob George answers questions commonly asked. “Have I committed the unpardonable sin?” “Is there a sin I commit that God will say He has had it with me?” “Do I have to keep asking God for forgiveness of sin?” When a person asks such questions, the person is either not born again or does not have a firm grasp on truth. The only person who really knows he is born again is the person himself, for the Spirit of God will testify within him that he is a child of God. He who has the Son has the life and who does not have the son does not have the life. If a person is believing a lie, then he is living as if he is still spiritually dead, and not in the joy of the Lord. A child of God is living under the grace of a loving heavenly Father who has already taken away the sins of the world, not counting your sins against you. The first caller, Clarence asks a couple of questions. One question is, how can there be all these ministers that are preachers of the gospel, yet they don’t believe in Jesus, God in the flesh? The other question is in regards to as why Bob called out a well known dominiate pastor in regards to something that is being taught?

Another caller, Marie, asks and wants to argue about eternal security and eternal salvation.

Another caller, Charles asks, “what is blasphemy?”

These callers called in to the original People to People radio program Bob George was on for over 30 years. Most of the questions were to get clarification of truth on some commonly misunderstood passages of scripture. Laurie asked, “Where do you place Melchizedek in Hebrews 6:16?” Oftentimes by simply reading the verses before and after a scripture that is unclear to you, you can discern what is important to understand in a passage. We often want to focus on a very narrow point rather than get the spiritual truth that Jesus wants you to know. Bob emphasized that Hebrews is about explaining the superiority of Jesus Christ. To the Jew, there is no one greater than Abraham. Hebrews clears this matter up by explaining that Melchizedek is greater than Abraham and Jesus s greater than everyone.

Edwin asked a very common question, typical of those who are new believers or those improperly instructed from religious teaching. He asked what is the difference between baptism of water and baptism of the Holy Spirit. By studying the scriptures the answer is very clear. Bob George received a call from Jim who simply asked if love is more important than faith. Bob answered from scripture that love indeed is greater than faith because love is from God and God is love. God initiated love to us and we respond to that love in faith. So faith is man’s response to love. Do we accept his love or do we reject it? Do we even understand that love? Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love.

Bob George also received a call from a young college lady, Lynn, who had found herself in an unwanted situation. She had committed fornication and is now pregnant. She wanted to know if abortion was wrong. Bob graciously shared truth with her, that abortion indeed is the sin of murder. Bob graciously provided practical advice and explained the truth of God’s unconditional love toward her. He shared such practical wisdom to help her make choices in line with who she is as a born again believer. God created life and this child she has was a life God intended to live. Bob George received calls from several callers who had questions about forgiveness, dealing with bitterness, understanding the assurance of forgiveness from God, and in regards to being single-minded on the truth of God’s word. As a believer, a new creation in Christ, you can be assured all your sins are forgiven, never to remembered anymore in the sight of God, and you have eternal life. You were never saved by your actions in the first place. You became a believer when you placed your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone, through his death, burial and resurrection. Furthermore, all your sins were in the future when he died. Yet, it is so common for believers to be narrowly focused on what seemingly unclear scripture and get overcome with anxiety on such things. In the sight of God your sins will never be taken into account. Satan, though, will accuse you before the throne of God when you do sin. And when he does, Jesus Christ is right there reminding Satan of what was done for us by Christ. Jesus C Christ died to pay for your sin. Several callers called in. Karen called about end time events and if there is any measuring stick to know when the time of the rapture is near. Bob emphasized the importance of not getting bogged down into end time events, particularly speculation and arguments, which are not beneficial to anyone, and certainly not at the expense of living your life in the Spirit with faith expressing itself in love. Another caller Rene asked about people prophesying over men by laying hands on them telling what God had said concerning them. Bob emphatically stated that is dangerous akin to fortune-telling and to stay away from people like that. He also said there is no more new knowledge for the canon of scripture is closed and all we need to know is in the scriptures. Tarrance asked questions pertaining to salvation. Bob explained the gospel quite clearly and said that many only teach about sin, sin and sin and never speak of the resurrection.
