Absent From the Body Present With the Lord

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P637 (05-27-21)

Synopsis

Many believers think the rapture will happen very soon. In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul instructs the believers to encourage one another with these things, that one day we will meet the Lord in the air. The Holy Spirit is deposited in us as a guarantee for the redemption of our bodies. Those who are older, or those born with a crippled body, definitely know what their failing body is like and certainly long for a new one. One day we will be absent from the body and present with the Lord. We will be given a new glorified body that is not like our current, for we are told that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. And as we think about Jesus’ resurrected body, that could walk through walls, we are told we will have a body like His.

We do not know how God will make us a glorified body but we know He will. Much about the end times is difficult to understand but we can read the scriptures and allow God to encourage our hearts. Jesus even tells us to read Revelation and take to heart what is written in there and that there will be a special blessing for us for doing so.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

What About 1 John 1:9

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P2 (05-26-21)

Synopsis

Do you realize you are under a New Covenant today? What exactly is the New Covenant? As you read the book of Hebrews, you come to realize that there was an Old Covenant of law that was replaced by a New Covenant of grace. A covenant, a testament and a will are synonyms. We are familiar with a will, that when someone’s death has been proven, then a will is read and whatever is in that will is executed so that whoever is named in that will receives what is written down. So too in the case of a will, testament, or covenant.

The Old Covenant required the sacrifice of the blood of bulls and goats to just cover sin. And under that covenant, a person was required to continue to do everything written in it, which included the ten commandments of God, and if you fail just once you are guilty of breaking all of the law. Only one person fulfilled that will, and that person was Jesus Christ. Since mankind could not keep the requirements of his will, God sent Jesus to do something man could never do.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P46 (05-24-21)

Synopsis

We are children of God, but children have to grow. And as long as we are on this earth, we continually have a need for our mind to be renewed, because we have sin-indwelling flesh. That is what keeps us dependent on God, and Jesus said He has overcome the world, and that same Spirit that overcame the world is now living in you, for that reason. So God tells us to not be afraid, and to be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world.

So how do children grow. That is the importance of the word of God in our lives, relying on the Spirit to teach you truth to change you. His word is living and active, changing the attitudes of our heart. It takes time for our hearts to change sometimes. Have you ever been angry at someone, or a spouse did something that caused a rift in your marriage, or you yourself are holding onto bitterness? We have all experienced various things like that. What is the instruction from God to us? Yes, we are to go to our brother, and forgive as the Lord has forgiven you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Worship by Being Available to Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P636 (05-21-21)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob explains to new believers the role of the Holy Spirit, what salvation is, what happens when a believer commits a sin, even suicide, and what is worship. How is a church supposed to function. Go to Acts 2:42 and read it in its context and you will see an example of what church was like in those early days after Pentecost. As you ponder over scripture, looking up all the passages you can find on the Holy Spirit, you will have a deeper understanding of your identity in Christ, how the Holy Spirit indwells you, if you are born again, and how the Spirit will guide you into all truth, and how He is your Counselor and best friend. You will discern that the Holy Spirit is alive, living in you, and you have the privilege to participate in the divine nature, to allow and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. With your mind renewed, even though all things are permissible, but as a child of God, those things you are now ashamed of just do not make any sense to do anymore. They are just not profitable or constructive, and not consistent with who you are as a child of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Unbelief is the Worlds Sin

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P635 (05-20-21)

Synopsis

There are many common questions relative new believers ask concerning the scripture. They are basic questions that can easily be answered from the scriptures but they are also questions they have in light of the teaching they have been so accustomed to hear on radio, television or from a denomination they grew up under or have been visiting or attending. As they read the scriptures for themselves, they are beginning to recognize that something is just not right, for what they had been taught all their lives just does not agree with what is revealed in scripture. So in either case, they call for clarification of what they have heard, and want Bob George’s thoughts on the subject.

So listen as Bob George answers various questions by callers on topics such as what did Jesus mean when he said my yoke is easy and my burden is light, and what does it mean to be unequally yoked with unbelievers or have I committed the unpardonable sin, does the Lord’s prayer apply today and what is the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, and what is this I hear about the doctrine of election, where God died for only the elect?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
