The Love of Jesus

Bob explains the meaning of being filled with the Spirit, to be controlled by the love of God. Bob shared how the scriptures interpret itself, revealing the meaning from context. By looking at Ephesians 3 helps you better understand Ephesians 5. So too with all of the scriptures. Look at key phrases such as “so that” or “therefore”, and look more closely what follows or why it is there for. By learning to ask the right questions and then pondering over the scriptures for the answer is helpful to discern the meaning of God’s word. But widen the amount of scriptures you read. Read entire passages for a wider context while asking the Spirit to reveal truth to you. The wisdom of men is foolishness to God. We need the power of God to grasp truth. We need to renew our minds, pushing out the psychological, religious, and philosophical garbage out. We need error replaced with truth. So let us look to the Spirit to reveal truth to us through His word and allow Him to show us a better way. Understanding What The Bible Means

Bob shares a message on what it means to be controlled by the Spirit of God, or to be filled with the Spirit of God. Bob explains how man has so much error in his thinking and such error has to replaced with truth. Many churches encourage the memorization of scriptures and that could be good or bad. The same scripture can be used to help or hurt people. If one does not understand the meaning of the word of God, not understanding the context in which the scripture was written, then the same scripture can be used to confuse or even hurt people. To make his point clear, Bob cites the example of Satan trying to tempt Jesus in the wilderness by quoting scripture out of context. And how many ways are people confused on what it means to be filled with the Spirit. Bob cites examples of holy laughter, being slain in the Spirit, or being filled a second time, as examples of erroneous teaching. Bob explains what being filled with the Spirit means by looking at the broader context of the book of Ephesians. Baptism and the Lords Supper

Bob George answers the common questions asked by people wanting to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Several callers asked about baptism. What is the difference between water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Bob explained that the baptism that saves is faith in the resurrection in Jesus Christ. He explains how water baptism is a symbol of what happened when someone is born again spiritually and placed into the body of Christ. Water baptism does not place you in the body of Christ. Churches might teach that water baptism places you in their local body, but water baptism can take place anywhere and is a public testimony of someone’s spiritual birth, a visual picture of what Christ alone did for him. You go under the water identifying with Christ’s death and come out of the water symbolizing that you are made into a new creation in Christ. In water baptism, you are testifying as being a part of the body of Christ, by spiritual baptism, having put your faith in what Christ alone has done for you in His resurrection.

Bob shares from Luke 2, reviewing the various appearances of angels, announcing events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. Then we also have revelation by the Holy Spirit through an old man name Simeon and a widow named Anna, both righteous in the sight of God, often in the temple in worship and prayer. Simeon prophesises that salvation is even for the Gentiles. The Gentiles can be saved the same way as the Jew, by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Simeon also says Jesus will cause the rising and falling of many and a sword will pierce your own soul too. Anna prophesises concerning this child to be for the redemption of Israel. Classic Christianity – Bob George (12-11-18) Continuation of Message from Monday

Bob George shares insight from the book of Ephesians, particularly the first four chapters.

The first four chapters of Ephesians explains what Christ means to us. Jesus Christ completed the work that he began in us. He did it all. He created the universe, recreated you and me, those born again spiritually, into a new creation. He has given us his life and became life for us. He has not just given us his life but he is our life. That is why the Apostle Paul could say:

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Prior to the day of Pentecost nobody is indwelt with the Spirit of God. The Spirit came on men for divine service and then could leave. That is why David prayed this prayer in the Psalms.

Psalm 51:11
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Why David prayed that the Spirit not be taken from him is because in the time period he lived, long before Jesus even walked the earth, before he died to take away sin, the Holy Spirit did not take permanent residence in men.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
