Jesus is Our Rock

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P35 (04-27-21)

Synopsis

The bible is a unique book and it answers life’s most important questions. Who is God and what is He like? What does He expect from us? Who are we? Why are we here? It answers those age-old questions. In the word of God, you will also find the elements necessary to live above circumstances instead of being buried under them. The bible gives us counsel on how to get along with family and friends. And even how to get along with our enemies.

The bible is an autobiography of God, a study in human behavior. It is an historical account. It is a counselor’s manual, a textbook on life, and a looking glass into the future. It is a storehouse of riches. I think even more importantly it is a love letter from the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you have let the word of God speak into your heart to not simply know about God, as if just simply a book of information, but to intimately know God, then that transforms your life. The reality of a living God who loves you, who wants to communicate with you, who is living in you, that brings a peace that surpasses understanding.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Has Set You Free for Freedom

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P34 (04-26-21)

Synopsis

So what does the word of God do for us? It teaches us, corrects us, reproves us, trains us. It can be likened to a yg teenager learning to drive a car. You get back on the road when you are corrected. The word is like that in correcting our way of thinking, by renewing our mind on what truth is. It helps form policies in our minds in regard to the truth that the Spirit of God living in us has made known to us through His word. It changes our attitudes and forms our character to be like Christ’s in our relationships with people, as we depend on Him. The word of God is like food to our spirit as food is to our physical bodies. That is how we live, by hanging onto every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Some people think we need to learn to think positively, especially as we live in such a world full of negative things we hear about every day, especially whenever we turn on the television or read news headlines. But it is not about thinking positively but about thinking truthfully.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P628 (04-23-21)

Synopsis

Have you ever got into a conversation trying to persuade someone on what truth on a matter is? But they are not understanding or their mind is made up. It is one thing to disagree on certain trivial or non-consequential matters, and certain things are not as clear without more or sufficient information to draw conclusions. But when God has made something clear to you, that has been revealed to you through the scriptures on what Christ Jesus accomplished on the cross for you, it is heart-breaking when you share such truth on such a critical subject of life and death, and the person is blind or hard of heart and cannot see!

It is also heartbreaking when you see those leaders whom you trusted and respected, who were even influential in your early years in coming to Christ, have gone astray or have fallen into a serious sin, maybe even as a pastor, where much more is expected from them. That can lead to anguish and soul-searching in many hearts as to questioning what truth is, or what church is, of trust and fellowship is. To a lost person it could create a greater barrier to coming to Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Victory Over Depression - Book

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P627 (04-22-21)

Synopsis

Often times, in modern Christianity today, you will hear the comingling of law and grace, with much teaching about obedience to the law, teaching things out of the old testament or from the gospels, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, out of context, and trying to make it apply to us today. For example, you might hear a pastor say, quoting from the words of Jesus, who was teaching the Jews, people who were still under the law, since Jesus had not gone to the cross yet, that if you do not forgive someone else their sins then neither will God forgive you, and use that to put people on a guilt trip, or under some sort of unfounded fear. Sadly, pastors are supposed to be ministers of a new covenant, but either are not born again themselves, or have not grown in their own understanding of the most basic foundation, that God has called them to be a minister of the new covenant, yet they have not learned anything about the new covenant they are supposed to be a minister of. What a sad state of the church today.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Will Direct Your Path

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P33 (04-21-21)

Synopsis

What is the effect of the word of God on men? When you read the word of God, how is it different from reading another book, one that is written by men? The word of God is God’s word to men to change lives, to set men free. You cannot separate the word of God from the person of God, who is the way, the truth and the life.

The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. There is truth that sets men free from bondage to sin and error and lies. That truth is the person of God in Jesus Christ, and has been written down for us, that we may know Him, who is eternal life. In knowing Him, we come to know His thoughts and attitudes of heart. This is a dynamic relationship with the living God, and we get to know Him, who is true, through His word that He has given to us, as we rely on Him to teach us all that He has freely given us, as a born again child of God.

When man is overcome with depression, what is man’s initial inclination?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Sets us Apart

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P32 (04-20-21)

Synopsis

With the word of God, and the Spirit of God living in us, knowing the totality of the cross, the reality of the resurrection, and the fullness of what Christ did for us in all of that, regardless of whatever shortcomings there are in translations, you can know the meaning of the scriptures, and so much difficulty in understanding soon disappears. You come to realize that the word of God is divinely inspired, written down through the personalities of men, through the prophets and apostles, but with the full meaning of what God wanted to express to us, that we may put our faith in Him and have eternal life, the abundant life He promised us.

These men, whom God appointed and raised up for that purpose, prior to the foundation of the world, wrote down what God said to them. When the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, to indwell the apostles forever, the Holy Spirit brought back to their remembrance, to the apostles, who were eyewitnesses of His death, burial and resurrection, of all that they had seen and heard, that God wanted them to write down for all generations to come, so men might know Him who is true and eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
