Classic Christianity – Moving Towards Mount Zion – Part 1 – 8-31-26

~ Hebrews 12:18-29
For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom, and storm; to a trumpet blast or to a voice that made its hearers beg that no further word be spoken. For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” The sight was so terrifying that even Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”

Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels in joyful assembly, to the congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. You have come to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Classic Christianity – The Purpose of the Law – 8-26-26

To understand what Jesus did for us under the Law, we need to understand how Jesus, the True Goel Kinsman-Redeemer, under the law fulfills the Law of the Goel (Kinsman-Redeemer). He completely redeemed us. Not in just a spiritual way, but one that is flesh and bone too. Because someday, we will be like Him, having new flesh and bone ourselves.

Under the unyielding legal logic of divine jurisprudence, salvation is not a passive, disembodied sentiment; it is a rigorous, binding contract paid in full. To truly understand how this transaction balances the cosmic ledger, we must look to a core mechanism of ancient Israelite society: the Law of the Goel, or the Kinsman-Redeemer. Codified into the Mosaic Covenant at Mount Sinai, the Goel was the nearest blood relative responsible for stepping into the courtroom of justice to protect, rescue, and buy back the property, freedom, or lineage of a family member facing poverty or destitution. Classic Christianity – Who Shall Rescue Me – Part 2 – 8-05-26

~ “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God.

Jesus is God in Flesh

~ “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. ~ Some people get all hung up on the use of the word Trinity. Part of the problem is the word trinity itself. To some it triggers them in a negative way. Others see it as a simple description. And others try and take the pieces of God apart, as though God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are separate so to speak. And then others try to merge them together in a weird sort of way, to make it seem like Jesus is talking to himself when He is talking to the Father. But that’s not how God operates. Unbelief in Jesus is The Only Sin That Surely Can Be and Needs Repented Of

~ “In regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me;” John 16:9

~ The only sin that keeps a person from eternal Life is unbelief in Jesus. And understanding this sin, and the need in repententance (change your mind) about who Jesus is, God in flesh, and what He did on the cross for you, took away all your sins from the eyes of God and is no longer counting any sins against you. However, in order to receive Eternal Life in Christ Jesus, a person must place Faith in the Faithful One of God, Jesus God Himself, and immediatly a person will receive the Holy Spirit for Life. They will become born again of the Spirit of God. They will have the very Life of Jesus living in and through them for ALL eternity.

If a person refuses the drawing of the Holy Spirit, and refuses Jesus Himself, they will remain dead, because they would rather try doing things their own way of salvation, and think God will grade on the curve. Classic Christianity – Hang On – Part 2 – 6-09-26

~ “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12
~ Hold on to Life, His Life living in you. Reminder, when the Holy Spirit lives in you, He is in you forever. He is what we are to hold on to, and He is holding on to you always and will never let go of you, no matter what. And when life troubles come your way, He is right there with you. So remember that and keep on pressing forward in TRUTH. That TRUTH is Jesus Himself.

~ Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 3:12-14
