What conviction do you have that the scriptures are the word of God, are inerrant, and are applicable today as it was over 2000 years ago? Are the problems of man we face today in our lives, anxiety and depression, any different than back then, since the fall of mankind? Yes, we may have advanced technology that can cause more devastating destruction, but deep down is not the root cause of all the problems of man rely inside the heart of man? Do you think that God had a solution to our problems only in today’s world through psychology or philosophy, or that we have become so sophisticated, that we can solve our problems through science and psychology and relegate God to just our initial salvation, such as a guarantee of a new life after we die, but then He just leaves us alone for us to figure out and solve our problems on our own?

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P5 (02-16-21)

Synopsis

You cannot separate the word of God from the person of God. They are so intertwined. When God says something it is a total reflection of who He is. You cannot separate who He is from what He says. They are one and the same, unlike us. God is not like us. When someone asks us, “How are you doing?”, we say, “Fine” when we know very well we are not fine. We can be phony. God is never phony. When God speaks, it is always truth.

The scriptures are the very words of God and Jesus, who is God, quoted from His own words. When scriptures prophecy something is going to happen, it happens as recorded in the scripture. Scriptures spoke of what is going to be fulfilled in Christ long before the unfolding events happen, and those events happen just as the Word says it will happen.

It is so important to speak truth in love, for that is how people are set free, with truth. So what hinders us from speaking truth? Is it not fear? And if we fear, where is our attention mostly on? Is it not on ourselves, in what we perceive we might lose or be hurt by others who may not think the same way we do, of the persecution we might receive by not telling the truth? What do you think happened in Nazi Germany, when people were afraid to speak out in truth? Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled for Your Sins

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P26 (12-08-20)

Synopsis

As we continue in our study, we now turn to look at a more magnified look at the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. We have a prophecy from the psalmist David, in Psalm 22, some thousand years before the event of his crucifixion ever occurred. Through this prophecy we gain insight into who Jesus is and why He came. The disciples of Jesus, both Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, record what they observed actually happen at the foot of the cross, concerning Jesus last words, as he hung there on a cross for you and me.

Recall also what Jesus told his disciples after his resurrection, as he walked on earth for many days.

Synopsis

Let us reflect on Christ and be thankful. When we ponder all that we have in Christ, how can we not be thankful? At Thanksgiving we can reflect on our nation, but what I really rejoice in is that I have been set free in Christ. To ponder over the wretched state of death I was once in, so miserable that I cried out to God for help, and He rescued me. He led me to new life in Christ Jesus. And today, I rejoice that that same grace that saved me then is the same life that continually saves me now.

I thank Him for renewing my mind, encouraging me and knowing that when I do sin, I am not condemned. Why? I am no longer under the law of sin and death. All the judgment and punishment for sin was placed on a cross so there is none left for me! And I am so grateful that I am under grace. He supplies everything I need to live.
