Life in The Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P537 (05-21-20)

Synopsis

Knowing God and His word, the meaning of the word as revealed by the Spirit of God, is really useful for practical living.Sometimes you wonder what happens in religious denominations, if they even know God or His word. You have people who just do not think, believing the King James only bible, and those who are into legalism. It sure makes you wonder if they even have the Spirit, because if you have the Spirit living in you, you would think you would be led by the Spirit. You cannot be led by the spirit and be led by the law at the same time.

As a person led by the Spirit of God, you will begin to realize when something is not working, those old thinking patterns you used to have as a lost person. You might be struggling in your marriage. But little by little you hear truth, and that truth is maybe taught in a different way than how you have been taught in your local denomination you assemble with and it just helps you to walk free, in a new and different way.

Take for example, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Faith Hope and Love in Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P5 (04-28-20)

Synopsis

I heard on social media, where a person asked these sincere and honest questions. “I am often uncertain about what to say, when the great commission comes up in conversation. Do we all do street preaching? I hardly ever do that. (Been sometime since the last, a year! ) Is one to one witness whenever I can, enough? Is trying to show what Jesus preached in how I live, not part of it? Are we all missionaries? I was sent to mainland China but again, that was long ago. I do feel inadequate, at times. So when we talk of the great commission – what do you actually do?”

As I was thinking how to answer his questions, this is what God put on my heart to write. I think of this faith, hope and love that are ours in Christ Jesus, as God initiated that love to us first in Christ Jesus, whom he sent to this world so we might visually see what a person filled with the Holy Spirit looks like. That way when I see His righteousness in light of my own … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is the Way to God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P522 (03-20-20)

Synopsis

Several callers called to get advice. These questions vary from practical advice on sharing truth with people, to questions on clarification of what a passage in scripture means, and even about why you are facing depression when trying to fulfill a life-long dream you have in making a living in what you really enjoy doing.

How do you share truth with someone who just always wants to find reasons to find things to debate you on? How do you talk to people who have knowledge on various books that conflicts with what is written in the scriptures, or about information missing during the early years of Christ, or about all religions being equally valid?

What does it mean in 2 Peter 2 or in Hebrews 6 about a dog returning to its vomit or a person being enlightened and now he is worse off than he was before? How do you deal with life where people are into all kinds of denominations but they do not have the same doctrine?

What is the cause of our depression when my husband wants to make it big in the music industry, to … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The Truth of 1 John 1:9

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P521 (03-19-20)

Synopsis

Many questions can be answered once you really understand what salvation is, what the complete gospel is, what biblical repentance unto salvation is, and that there is a New Covenant of grace we are now living in. Salvation is being saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is the resurrected life in Christ Jesus. There is an Old Covenant of law that has been set aside. The Jews were under that system of law. The Gentiles never were. But all were under sin, and know right from wrong, conscience bearing witness to that. The real issue is not sins anymore, since Jesus took all the sins of the entire world upon himself, so God will never see sins again. Yes, sin caused our death, for the wages of sin is death, but the issue really is that man is spiritually dead and in need of life.

Understand also that the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John really belong in the Old Covenant, since those books are about the life of Christ Jesus on earth. The New Testament was ushered in only … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Classic Christianity – New Years P3 (01-01-20)

Synopsis

As you read the familiar story of the account in Luke of the birth and early life of Christ, what grabs your attention? The Spirit continually teaches us through His word, even from passages so familiar to us, as we stop and ponder His word, and ask the Lord to reveal to us what He wants us to see today. When you think of how the Spirit is at work to reveal truth to men, do you see how He works throughout the ages to reveal Himself to men? How has He revealed Himself to you? Today, He has revealed Himself to us by the Son He has given.

What do you think of the shepherds in the fields, who had angels visit them, and then Mary, through whom the angel Gabriel told her of the Spirit to be placed in her, to be called Immanuel, God with us? Then you have the Spirit speak to Simeon about a prophecy from the prophet Micah, that both the Jew and the Gentile will be saved the same way, through this small child Jesus, who will be the light to the Gentiles. This is … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

We Were Reconciled to God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P21 (12-11-19)

Synopsis

This passage of scripture, in this 5th chapter of Romans, is one of the most important chapters in the entire bible. It takes the whole deal and encapsulates the entire gospel in Christ. Looking at just Romans 5:10, we have an explanation of how God reconciled the world unto himself. Sadly, many people have not understood the latter part of this verse, that we are saved by his life.

You are not saved by the death of Christ. You are saved by the life of Christ. His death is what was necessary to prepare us for salvation, and is necessary for salvation. For if Jesus did not die to take away the sins of the entire world, the next time man sinned he would die again. But death does not give life. Life gives life.

Forgiveness also does not give life. This also is the most understood doctrine, what salvation is. Untold thousands of people understand salvation as getting your sins forgiven. But that is not salvation. Yet, there are people, such as Calvinists, who think that salvation is getting your sins forgiven.

If your premise of what salvation is, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
