Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled for Your Sins

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P26 (12-08-20)

Synopsis

As we continue in our study, we now turn to look at a more magnified look at the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. We have a prophecy from the psalmist David, in Psalm 22, some thousand years before the event of his crucifixion ever occurred. Through this prophecy we gain insight into who Jesus is and why He came. The disciples of Jesus, both Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, record what they observed actually happen at the foot of the cross, concerning Jesus last words, as he hung there on a cross for you and me.

Recall also what Jesus told his disciples after his resurrection, as he walked on earth for many days.

Luke 24:44
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

This alone tells you that Jesus said he fulfilled what was spoken in the Psalms concerning himself, and how that had to happen that way. In other words, this was just not some tragic unexpected event that happened to Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation - Eternal Life in Jesus

Thanksgiving P3 – Bob George (11-24-20)

Synopsis

As the Thanksgiving season is here, consider how much we have been freely given. If you are in Christ, you are free. You are free from the law. You are no longer under the law of sin and death, the law with it’s demands that you could never keep. Sin was your master and owner. In Christ, you are no longer a prisoner of the law. You were once locked up until faith should be revealed. Has faith been revealed to you? Can you now call God your Father because you have become a child of God, a new creation in Christ?

Even before the law was given, sin was in the world. All of us were born dead spiritually. The law was powerless to save you nor could it. We were already weak in our natural selves, being dead already. We keep doing what we know we ought not do and we do not do what we know we should. And when we fail, there is guilt under the law. Then why was the law given? The law was added so that man may see his condition of spiritual death and seek a Savior.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Came to Set You Free

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P587 (11-12-20)

Synopsis

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God today. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet. Not only is he not a prophet, he is a deceiver.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin nor does he tempt anyone to sin. We sin by our own evil desires.

There are many things we are tempted by but there may be a few things we are not tempted by. But if I was not tempted by something, then it would not tempt me if the temptation was presented before me.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Jesus There is no Condemnation

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P53 (08-18-20)

Synopsis

Let us focus on this aspect of faith, this access to this grace in which we, who are in Christ, now stand. We know that anything which is not of faith is sin. Sin is what caused our death, but through faith in Christ Jesus, we were born again. The message of the gospel is life in Christ Jesus. It encompasses the totality of what Christ Jesus accomplished for us through His death, burial and resurrection, ultimately leading us to place our faith in His provision and receive eternal life, the life of Christ living in you.

Many of you have heard justification expressed as meaning just as if you had never sinned. That is part of justification, but there is more to justification than dealing with sin. The removal of sin did not save us. That is what prepared us for life to be given and for life to be received.

Dealing with sin is really what reconciliation is, which is what God did for us by sending His Son to shed His blood on a cross to take away the sins of the world. I am prepared to say what about the wages of sins, which is death?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

LIFE IN JESUS

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P32 (06-30-20)

Synopsis

Have you thought about what Jesus accomplished for us? Did you know that we have already been reconciled, and that before you were ever born. Wait a minute, you ask, “Does that mean everyone is saved, or born again?” No. “What are you saying then?” When Jesus died on that cross, he took away the sins of the entire world. That is a necessary part for salvation. It was preparation for life to be given, but until someone receives that life they are not born again because he does not have the Spirit of God living in him. The complete gospel is the meaning of his death, burial and resurrection. Let us move on from the cross and onto the resurrection.

When you realize that you are wretched, you realize that you are dead in sin already, knowing that the good you ought to do, you do not do, and the things you hate to do, you do anyhow. Then you realize that that sin that caused your death was paid in full. But you still cannot stop your sinning and you are still wretched. You are missing a piece of information and lacking in understanding.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith That Pleases God - Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P547 (06-25-20)

Synopsis

If you are a parent, and you are a believer, how would you relate to your adult son who comes home to visit, says he is a homosexual, that he is born that way and he wants you to accept him? These are the kinds of questions that we hear today. First, of all you do love him dearly, not for what he does, but because he is your son. You know such behavior is perversion, and you do not have to be a believer to know that. And you know that in order for your son to come alive in Christ, to walk free from that, he needs to be told the truth.

You never want to get to the point of calling something other than what God calls it. If God calls it sin, it is sin. How can someone repent of being a sinner and know to come to Christ for life, if he first does not even acknowledge what sin is? He is believing a lie. Anyone who is in that lifestyle is not happy no matter what he looks like on the outside. He has believed a lie that he is born that way.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
