It is so wonderful to hear people call in to get answers to their questions. People are looking for truth, and desire to grow in Christ, from the newest believer to those serving as deacons. Pastors and teachers are a gift to the body of Christ, to equip them for works of service. A pastor cannot get bogged down in waiting on tables, but must have time in the word of God and time equipping a group of men, so that they too can counsel and disciple others. Recall the great commission Jesus spoke about to the eleven men he reached and sent out. He told them to teach them to teach others to obey everything He has taught them and to make disciples of men.

Now, to a new believer who asks you advice on how to stop doing the things he used to do as a non-believer, what would you tell him? So many people would tell him to do this and not do that, and it amounts to legalism. Synopsis

This faith is in what God has promised, and that is that life is in His Son. Will you believe that? Will you place your trust in what God has said? Now, when you are in Christ, what do you have? Eternal life. What else do you have? Redemption and forgiveness of sins. What else do you have? The very righteousness of God credited to you. Forgiveness of sins does not give you righteousness. That clears the deck of the sins of the entire world so life can be given, and it came at a great price, the shedding of the blood of the eternal Son of God. But death does not give you life. Life gives you life. Righteousness is who God is, perfect without sin, holy and pure and blameless. So when you are in Him, you have every spiritual blessing in Christ, which includes His righteousness imputed to you, and eternal life, for He is God eternal. It is an exchanged life. He took away your sin, and then offered you eternal life. Synopsis

Knowing God and His word, the meaning of the word as revealed by the Spirit of God, is really useful for practical living.Sometimes you wonder what happens in religious denominations, if they even know God or His word. You have people who just do not think, believing the King James only bible, and those who are into legalism. It sure makes you wonder if they even have the Spirit, because if you have the Spirit living in you, you would think you would be led by the Spirit. You cannot be led by the spirit and be led by the law at the same time.

As a person led by the Spirit of God, you will begin to realize when something is not working, those old thinking patterns you used to have as a lost person. You might be struggling in your marriage. But little by little you hear truth, and that truth is maybe taught in a different way than how you have been taught in your local denomination you assemble with and it just helps you to walk free, in a new and different way.

Synopsis

Listen as people call to get answers to their questions. Some people want help in how to witness, or get clarification on explaining the Trinity, because they get into these conversations with people who deny the Trinity. The Trinity is that there is one God but three persons all being God; that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We may not be able to comprehend it but we can apprehend it because of what has been written down in the scriptures of what Jesus said. The key advice Bob shares is do not try to put flesh and blood on Spirit. That is where people get into trouble. Then Bob used an illustration of an egg to try to explain the concept of the Trinity. Egg white, egg yolk and an egg shell are all distinct characteristics of an egg, but each one individually is still an egg.

Do people really understand what faith is? Is faith something you concentrate on for God to do something, that you could cause God to act? No, that would put you in the position of the initiator. We were born dead, and now as a born again believer, apart from Him we can do nothing. We are responders. We respond to what he has already done, and in what he has said and has already given. You have been given everything you need for life and godliness. That does not mean you live in independent from God.

Synopsis

Have you ever wondered why someone you love is not acting like he is a Christian? He is born again, or so you thought, but his actions testify against him. Why is he going back to perverse behavior, behavior that only occurs among the heathen? There are two possible explanations. One he is not born again as you think he is, or he is born again, but is not paying any attention to God, and is acting in rebellion against truth. We cannot judge motives, but we can judge actions. So, if not certain of the evidence, then approach him in love, ask the questions that will draw him out, is your best option. You love him enough to tell him the truth. As a believer, we have the privilege to participate in the divine nature. That also means, we can choose to participate in the flesh. The flesh is contrary to the Spirit. We overcome the flesh by walking in the Spirit, putting to death the misdeeds of the body.
