Jesus Forgave You Believe It

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P490 (11-08-19)

Synopsis

It so encouraging, and so thrilling, to hear someone ask what it means to be born again, and then to readily accept the message, and become a child of God. When every day you share truth, and people hear truth, accept it as truth and see someone start walk in a new life. There is no greater joy to see people walking in truth.

Sometimes we get bogged down in our daily lives, being bombarded with legalism or teaching that just weighs us down. The day to day mundane things we do just seems to weigh us down at times. But to know that the time we ourselves get alone with the Lord, letting Him teach us the meaning of the word of God, and see the work God is doing in us. Then, as we simply share truth that has been revealed to us, that truth not only changes our own lives, but it overflows into the lives of others. That makes living so worthwhile.

Listen as Bob George shares with a young seminary student getting bogged down in his studies in theology that seems to distract him from being taught by the Holy Spirit.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Righteousness From God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P6 (10-30-19)

Synopsis

Bob George continues sharing from the key passage of Romans 1:16-17. In the gospel, a righteousness from God is revealed that is by faith from first to last, and is the power of God unto salvation for all who will believe. When you believe the gospel, accept Christ as your life, you are able to communicate with the living God, to know His love and to know and love Him. There are only two types of righteousness, self righteousness, which is really no righteousness at all, and God’s righteousness. The righteousness of God is revealed by the Holy Spirit, who is drawing all men to Himself.

If a man thinks he has righteousness of his own, by what he does or fails to do, then he is only comparing himself with others. Only two things can occur. You see yourself as better or worse than someone else. You are either puffed up in pride or are overcome with self condemnation. Either way, you are bound by deception and enslaved to sin. That is really what happens in religion. You have to have rules and regulations, and that just keeps you in deception and bondage.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P2 (10-22-19)

Synopsis

Bob George now starts in the book of Romans, after providing some introductory background on the life of Paul. Through just the first seven verses of Romans, Bob explains the meaning of words, such as sin, forgiveness, sanctified (set apart), slave, ambassador, saint, truth, gospel, obedience and faith, that we often take for granted, and such words are often not properly understood. The Greek language provides a more precise rendering that helps our understanding in some cases.

The gospel is the message of good news of Jesus Christ and Paul is called as an ambassador of Jesus Christ to bring this good news and explain it to the Gentile world. Ambassador is not a short term function he is assigned to do. He is called as an ambassador, as an identification or designation. It is like the word forgiveness. It not something we get but something we already have. An ambassador for God is one who represents God in a foreign country, the place on earth, to proclaim truth.

Now truth to be truth, truth must be universal, for all people, for all times and for all places. The prosperity gospel is not truth because you cannot share that to both an impoverished city and also to a wealthy city.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Baptism and the Lords Supper

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P470 (9-05-19)

Synopsis

Several callers asked if there are prophets today. Prior to the finished work of Jesus Christ, God’s word had to be explained to men. But no man then had the Spirit to explain things to them. All men are born spiritually dead. So God raised up prophets in the Old Testament to instruct men. These prophets had direct revelation from God and spoke the very words of God. That is how the Old Testament came into existence, as these words were written down. God, knowing the god of this world and the hearts of men, wanted to ensure that people knew what His words are, and not lies proclaimed from deceived and wicked men. Therefore, when God formed a nation of the Jewish people under an Old Covenant system, established for that time period, the instruction was given that if anyone claimed to be a prophet and what he said did not come to pass, then that person was to be stoned to death.

Today, there are no need of prophets because all that man needs to know of such spiritual importance for life and godliness, and concerning Christ Jesus and the message he proclaimed, has been written down through the prophets and apostles.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God is Not Counting Your Sins Against You

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P466 (8-22-19)

Synopsis

The first caller, Hans, with understandably great emotion with weighty decisions to make. He shared that he is dying of melanoma cancer that has invaded much of his body already, including his brain. He had concerns about losing a relationship with God because of potential damage to his brain. Bob assured him that his relationship with God will always be there. You will never cease to be a child of God. You might not be able to pray to Him, but you are in His hands. He was also wanting advice on further treatments to take. Bob could not answer that for him, but for him to ask God for wisdom. God gives wisdom to all who ask without partiality. But he offered what he personally would want to know. If the cancer has invaded most of his body and that no amount of treatment will get rid of it, then the decision, to Bob, would be one of quality of life versus quantity of life. He would personally refuse continued treatment, if he had definitive information from the doctor on the matter. Other considerations is the financial burden on the wife.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Who Do You Say I Am

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 24 (05-22-19)

Bob George shares from John 5, on the testimony of the Father concerning Jesus. Bob emphasized the life of the Holy Spirit living in a person, producing the fruit of the Spirit. That ultimately is the work Jesus came to do. One characteristic of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22-23). Then he shares from 1 Corinthians 13, explaining how Jesus came to expose the pride in man, that he may humble himself, recognize his state of spiritual death, and come to walk in the newness of life, with the Spirit of God living in him. The opposite of love is not hate, but pride. As a born again person, Jesus is showing us today how to live in dependence on the Holy Spirit of God. He is the vine and we are the branches. We love because he first loved us. Allow the love of he Holy Spirit to be produced in you and through you.

Bob George shares from John 5 on the testimonies of Jesus. We have read about his early life and his public ministry, his miracles, the testimony of John the Baptist, and where Jesus identified himself as the promised Messiah.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
