Taken Away Forever

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P4 (08-16-21)

What the Cross Made Possible for Mankind: An Indestructible Life

What did Jesus’ shed blood on a cross make possible for you and I? And, if Jesus was not raised from the dead, would all that was made possible by the cross be a reality in our life? Think about these questions as you ponder over the passages of scriptures in Hebrews, where the New Covenant God made, not just with the Israelites, but with all of mankind, is explained. Looking at specific passages in scriptures, such as Hebrews 9:22, 27-28, Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:1-18, what conclusions can you come to in regard to the totality of the cross? What can you say in regard to the forgiveness of sins, of being made holy, to be made complete, in Christ?

What God has done for us in this New Covenant is He tells us that He will remember our sins no more and where these have been forgiven there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. In order to usher in a New Covenant, what was done in order for God, through His resurrected life, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P661 (08-13-21)

Addressing Music Style, Modesty and Behavior in the Church

Common questions asked in the church are about proper behavior, music styles and modesty in the church assembly (see 1 Corinthians 6 in regard to lawsuits among believers or sexual immorality and 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 in regard to the abuse of the Lord’s Supper). A youth pastor might wonder about how to address those under his care on matters of dress code. At times, this can be a legalistic problem, and best left to the mother of her daughter to address, as addressed in a previous call-in program, in regard to skirts below the knee. As another example, a camp director was overbearing on such a matter, and forbade different sexes to be swimming together. As Bob had remarked to the camp director, that it is okay for he and his wife to sleep together in the privacy of their home but not to be swimming together in decency and modesty in a public place. As another example of legalistic behavior, that could be insisting that your church only serves the Lord’s Supper with real wine. In such a case, a pastor … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Wants to Indwell in You

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P656 (07-30-21)

Salvation: Totality of the Cross, Being Made Complete in Christ and Growing in Grace

As people are growing in grace, they have questions. Oftentimes, they read passages of scriptures like Hebrews 6:4-6, that they just do not understand it yet. So they call up on a program such as this, or if they are around like-minded believers, where they are free to ask questions in order to grow in grace, they get guidance from mature believers, who rightly divide the word of truth. Many times people have not grabbed a hold of truth because there is something missing in their understanding. Of course, if you just got saved yesterday, you are still on the milk of the word, and that is where you are at. You have not had much time in the word of God yet. So it is helpful to have pastor-teachers that teach truth, help out in our understanding.

Many times people grow up in the church world and they may have memorized all kinds of scriptures, but it as if the scriptures are all put in a basket, and as they pull out scriptures, they do … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Make Your Body Available to Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P654 (07-23-21)

Jesus Makes a Believer Holy and Pleasing to God for His Purpose

There are many questions believers ask still today in trying to figure out what it means to live out the Christian life, to discern truth from error, and to properly discern the meaning of the Word of God in its context. Many times believers will be sitting under a pastor who is teaching error. They know something just does not ring true, and they may even have read scriptures on their own and it just does not seem to be consistent with those scriptures they have read. Now, that pastor indeed could be teaching error, but that does not necessarily mean he is a false teacher because he teaches error. Calling a person a false teacher puts the emphasis on the teacher being a wolf in sheep’s; clothing, and that may not be the case. Nevertheless, the pastor is still teaching error and that error hinders believers under his care from growing in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. And there is error that is more serious than others. Disagreements on the timing of the rapture … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Worship by Being Available to Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P636 (05-21-21)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob explains to new believers the role of the Holy Spirit, what salvation is, what happens when a believer commits a sin, even suicide, and what is worship. How is a church supposed to function. Go to Acts 2:42 and read it in its context and you will see an example of what church was like in those early days after Pentecost. As you ponder over scripture, looking up all the passages you can find on the Holy Spirit, you will have a deeper understanding of your identity in Christ, how the Holy Spirit indwells you, if you are born again, and how the Spirit will guide you into all truth, and how He is your Counselor and best friend. You will discern that the Holy Spirit is alive, living in you, and you have the privilege to participate in the divine nature, to allow and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. With your mind renewed, even though all things are permissible, but as a child of God, those things you are now ashamed of just do not make any sense to do anymore. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Propitiation - Jesus Took Away the Sins of the World

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P617 (03-18-21)

Synopsis

Common questions people ask from time to time are what is redemption, atonement, propitiation and trinity. If you have grown up with any sort of religious background, or have opened up your bible to read it, you have probably heard or read these words before. Words have meaning, but they must be used in their context in which they are written. Keep in mind also that translations are not always accurate, so if something is unclear, check it out in a Hebrew or Greek concordance. There is an interlinear bible online that can be helpful on that.

But, first of all, rely on the Holy Spirit to teach you truth. The biblical meaning is what is important, even if a dictionary seems to indicate a contrary meaning. There is enough cross-referencing of scripture, with the Holy Spirit living in you, to reveal to you God’s intended meaning. Without relying on the Holy Spirit to teach you truth, how would you know what any man is saying is true or not? Just because many theologians tell you what something means does not mean it is correct. If a pastor tells you … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
