Fishers of Men

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P34 (01-11-21)

Synopsis

A saint said one time, “To err is human, but to forgive is divine”. Do we not have the tendency to put people on pedestals, to worship man, especially those in a leadership position, a president, a well-known or popular pastor, who has built up quite a respectful following. Let us not bow down to a man, or even an angel of God. God alone is worthy of worship. All of us are capable of doing wrong, and we will from time to time, in our frail humanity, and God knows that all so well but He loves us anyway. And He loves us to solve that problem we have that we cannot solve, and knowing we are still so prone to fail. That is a kind of love the world does not understand.

So we read some examples of people who fell down and worshipped Jesus. We read about the wisemen, who gave expensive gifts fit for a king and they fell down and worshipped Him, knowing that this baby is the promised Messiah the prophets spoke about, for they saw the star in the East to … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Asks Who Do You Say I AM

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P33 (01-06-21)

Synopsis

Who is Jesus Christ? Is He God? If so, why is that important to know? What else do I need to know, so that by believing I might have life in his name? Is Jesus just a good man, a prophet, a good teacher or is He God? Come join us as we look at the evidence for believing in the Deity of Jesus Christ, and by believing you may have life in His name.

All religions of the world would have to recognize the historical fact that Jesus walked on this earth. Even our calendars testify of that. But knowing that He is God, does that mean I can become like God? Did Jesus become God? No! He always was God and always will be God. How do you know that?

You can know the scriptures and be like many Jews, and reject Jesus as God. Or you can believe based on the historical evidence itself. What did the disciples of Jesus have to say in regard to the Deity of Christ? They were eyewitnesses of Jesus. They ate, drank and spent up to three solid years … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus My Lord and My God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P32 (01-05-21)

Synopsis

We all have doubts in life. It is just natural to mankind. “How do I know Jesus is God?” “I have to see to believe.” These are things you may have said, or even heard others say. Have you thought through the truth of such a statement, that I have to see to believe. A lawyer once said, “Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.” Everything that you see and hear must be verified with corroborating evidence. So what evidence do we have so we may believe Jesus is God?

Sometimes seeing can get us into trouble, when our eyes are focused on the trials and storms of life, and you think all is lost. In the natural realm, yes, a storm could sink your boat and you could drown. But who is in control of all things, the storm and the seas of life? Consider the real life lesson as told by Jesus when his disciples were out on the Sea of Galilee in a fishing boat, when a storm rose up all of a sudden. Then Peter sees Jesus walking on … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Calms the Storm

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P31 (01-04-21)

Synopsis

What are you looking for? Has every need been met in your life? What about the meaning and purpose to life? What about a reason to live? What about wisdom, righteousness and forgiveness? Many people, lost and saved, are looking for things, something that lasts. They may not even be sure what they are looking for. And, if you are saved, have you not realized all that you do have in Him? You do not seek what you already have.

At some point, it is vitally important that you come to realize that the thing you are looking for is not in a thing but in a person, the person of Jesus Christ. I am not looking for wisdom, for in Him, He became wisdom for me. I am not looking for forgiveness, because in Him, I have become a forgiven person. He has become for me my wisdom. He is my righteousness, holiness and redemption, living in me. Apart from him, I did not have any of that. I am not there looking for a reason to be alive. I did not find a reason to be … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Came to Take Away Sin Not Cover it

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P30 (12-16-20)

Synopsis

We continue in our study of Daniel’s prophecy of the coming Messiah, where the exact time in history, April 6, 32 A.D., where Christ Jesus would ride in Jerusalem on a donkey, often known as Palm Sunday today, was predicted. As we know that event did happen, exactly as recorded in Daniel, and described by the disciples of Jesus.

Daniel also predicted a final week of time, or last seven years of time in history as we know it today, that is a period of tribulation the world has never known. If anyone lived during the tiem of Nazi Germany, and know how horrific that was, just multiply that by a hundred times over.

We read in scripture about a time in history prior to that last seven year period of tribulation. The dead in Christ and those still living on earth will meet the Lord in the air, to escape this time of trial. This is often known as the rapture. As we see events unfold before our eyes, and as Jesus said, when we see the events Jesus described as the beginning of birth pains, He … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
