Wisdom from scriptures for the common and practical questions of life

Bob George provides wisdom from the scriptures for the common and practical questions of life. A man calls in concerning a conflict between he and his wife. Another man calls in asking if hell is a real place and do people go there. And also, what about Judas Iscariot, did he go to hell? There are also more questions asked even today about end time events and the end of the church age.

As far as marital strife, remember that we can make plans but God can change them. Where there is a disagreement, remember that love considers others more important than yourself, and these issues have to be talked through. A woman has a limited time after a certain age in which she can have children, so that must be taken into consideration. You must also consider the fact of trusting God for your daily needs. Ideally we would all like to have no debts, but then life can hit us with curve balls. Any one of us could get in a major car accident, get laid off from our job or incur major medical bills.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P652 (07-16-21)

Synopsis

All of us need encouragement in this fallen world we live in. As Jesus warned us so many times, let no man deceive you. All of us have been deceived one time or another and are all subject to deception. Many of us grew up in some denomination that taught legalism and all sorts of error, or cults even, saying you have to belong to my church to be saved, and some of us came to the knowledge of the truth. We came to realize God’s word is truth, and anything contrary to that is to be rejected as from men. Not all men are deliberately deceiving you. Many are simply passing on what they heard from others.

How grateful we are for those many people, the born again believers all over the world, who have understood God’s grace, and spread that message of grace so we heard the message of truth and came to believe. The true grace teachers will teach the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ and salvation through receiving new life through the resurrection of Christ Jesus, who has offered all men the Holy Spirit to be placed in those who believe.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P651 (07-15-21)

Synopsis

Have you ever had someone tell you that you need to eat certain foods or worship on a certain day of the week? What do you say in response? Does not scripture say to not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink or in regard to a religious holiday or even a Sabbath? Yes. As you read scripture, you will be able to understand that you live under grace today. That Jesus set aside the Old Covenant to establish a New Covenant so that we can rest from our works just as He did from His.

What does that mean? If you are still trying to keep the law, then you are not resting from your works. He has put the law aside so that we can walk in the newness of life. There is no rest under the law. You are constantly being demanded to do what you cannot accomplish in the energy of your own flesh. So the Sabbath is a place of rest. It is not a day of the week. Would you hate to think that the only day of the week you can worship God is on one day of the week, on a Saturday or a Sunday?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P650 (07-09-21)

Synopsis

At times callers call because they are not quite grasping what they are reading in scripture or what they hear from the pulpit does not seem to make sense anymore. A person usually starts off by saying he believes Jesus died for all my sins, past, present and future, but then wonders if he needs to confess his sins to be sure he dies in a state of grace so he does not lose salvation. That is a person who has not grasped what salvation is. If salvation depends on anything we do to get it or keep it, then it is not salvation.

The only sin attributable to man is the sin of unbelief in what Jesus accomplished for us. Now, just because Jesus died on a cross does not mean everyone is universally saved. No one is saved by the death of Christ, although His death is a necessary part of salvation. Everyone is reconciled to God through the death of God’s Son, something Jesus did 2000 years ago for us, and had nothing to do with what we who are alive today did, for we were not even born yet when Jesus died.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is The Creator of Heaven and Earth

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P649 (07-08-21)

Synopsis

In this world there will always be false teaching. There will be pastors of churches who do not know the Lord. There will be people who do know the Lord, but would rather rely on their intellect, their Greek, their Hebrew, their seminary, to teach the word of God. Many times people will teach whatever theology that they grew up with or came to know the Lord under. And since they are told they must go to seminary in order to preach, and so they go to seminary and there they are taught all sorts of tradition or teaching that may or may not be true. Sadly, so few people will test to see if what they heard is so, by checking the scriptures out for themselves. The whole issue of false teaching is false dependency, leaning on your own understanding rather than relying on the Holy Spirit living in you, to reveal the meaning of the word of God to you. Indeed, the whole reason the Spirit is there is to be your Counselor, to guide you into all truth, to renew your mind with truth, so you can walk in the new way of the Spirit.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

Listen as people call to get answers to their questions. Every now and then, you have a caller who asks, “What must I do to be saved?” or says “I am having doubts about my salvation.” Many people have doubts about their salvation for any number of reasons. And wherever you are right now, we all start out the same way, without the Spirit of God living in you. That is, we are all born dead spiritually and are in need of new life.

When you are reading the gospels, you are reading a record of the life of Christ while he was here on earth. What was his destiny? He came to die on the cross and give you and me eternal life in Himself. In order to do that, He had to prepare us and show us what our condition was. He had to show us we are sinners. If we do not see ourselves as sinners, what would the cross mean to me? He had to show us we are dead. If I did not know I was dead, why would I need life? The teachings in the gospel buries you and me.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
