Jesus is the Gospel Warning

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P697 (01-06-22)

What is the True Gospel?

Many topics of conversation came up in today’s program. These topics of conversation are extremely relevant for today. There are so many pastors that have huge church followings for prosperity gospel teachings. This is not the gospel! And that is where we begin today.

The first caller, Ken called from Frisco Texas. He had a question about searching for a church in their area. Also, he noticed that a lot of the pastors taught the prosperity gospel. In addition to that he wanted to know Bob’s opinion on the husband and wife team being lead pastors at a church.

Bob explains out of the Book of 1 Timothy chapter 6 in regards to these false teachers that preach a prosperity gospel is of a corrupt mind.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

In Jesus We Are New Creations

You Are A Brand New Creation- Be Taught by The Holy Spirit of God

Pastors and teachers are God’s gift to the body of Christ. However, don’t rely solely on them to teach truth to you. They can be helpful to you to understand God’s word, but don’t depend on them to be infallible in their teachings. Any pastor or teacher could be lying to you or teaching things that are not true. That is why we need to depend on the Holy Spirit to teach us all truth and check out things with the word of God.

John 14:26
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Throughout church history, there have been many hindrances to the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ. An obvious one of these are other religious systems, like humanism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and we could go on naming them. But there is one that is the most prominent of all, and that is legalism. Legalism turns Jesus into a religion.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Perfect Love Drives Out Fear

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P16 (01-04-22)

Perfect Love Drives Out All Fear

Do you really love God? People are living in fear today, and those that are living in fear are not really loving God. People think they love God, yet they don’t know the Love of God. They don’t know that God loves them. They are still trying to perform for God so in turn God would do something for them.

When we understand God’s love for us, it changes our world completely. We may understand God’s love for us when we first come to Him for salvation (eternal life), but then we lose sight of it for our daily living. We get on our own performance track, thinking that we’ve got to do something in order for God to do something ongoing with us. We need to learn that is NOT how God deals with us at all. God is love, and His Love lives in us. This is key to our understanding and walking in the love of God.

1 John 4:16-21
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Rejoice in the Finality of the Cross and The Reality of The Resurrection

Welcome to a continuation A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection. We also encourage you to pick up a copy of A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross.

Understanding both the Cross and the Resurrection are keys to understanding the gospel. When you study the word of God, allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and reveal the truth to you.

Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jesus took away the wrath of God for our sins. He did not atone for sins, He took them away. Propitiation means it was satisfied for the sins of the whole world. It is finished. He loved us so much that He did this for us! He took away ALL OUR SINS! Once we grab a hold of this Truth then we rest in His Love for us. This is what it means to obey Him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Star Shines on The King

Classic Christianity – New Years P5 (12-31-21)

A Star Shines on King Jesus!

When you think of all the things spoken by the prophets, that were fulfilled in Christ, and how sovereign God is, that everything He has said has come to pass, who, in their right mind, would not come to choose Life? The star stood over the place where Jesus lay, just as it was spoken through the prophet. Jesus shall be called Emmanuel, and we see the transfiguration, where a voice from heaven says, “Listen to him. This is My Beloved Son”. God spoke to Joseph and Mary through dreams, and what had been spoken through the prophets was fulfilled, such as Jesus would be called a Nazarene. Numerous miracles were performed through Jesus, as the prophets of old said he would do when he came. John the Baptist was visited in prison, and Jesus told his disciples to report these things to him while he was in prison. Jesus himself, at various times said that he would die, but on the third day, be raised again from the dead. Then, after Jesus’ resurrection, he appeared to over 500 people, who were still alive. And during that time, Jesus spoke to two men on the road to Emmaus, and told them, beginning with Moses, all that would happen, as spoken through the prophets, was fulfilled in him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Sent the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is Constantly Renewing Your Mind – Teaching You Truth

Simeon prophesied that Jesus will cause the rising and falling of many in Israel, a sign that will be spoken against, so that the hearts of many will be revealed. There is something about mankind, who is born spiritually dead, that he is naturally opposed to truth. Truth sounds as foolishness to him. You can talk about God all day long, and people seem to be okay with that. People talk about all kinds of religions, and people are okay with that too. But once you talk about Jesus or the truth of His word, there is an aversion, a pulling away, or even quite a reaction with false accusations.

In today’s world, hardly anyone wants to hear truth anymore. The bible and prayer have long been kicked out of the public sphere. Situational ethics and evolution have been taught in our schools. Seminaries are teaching things that ought not to be taught. Even bible societies and bible translators are not required to uphold the bible as the inerrant word of God. Jesus warned about this when he spoke about the tares among the wheat.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
