Confess: Agree With God Concerning Your Sins ~ Your Sins Have Been Forgiven

~ Many people are confused by the Lord’s Prayer and the 1st John 1:9 passage of scripture and the understanding of the context that these were given in. It’s also important to understand that the word “confess” in the Greek means to agree with God. It does NOT mean to ask for forgiveness of sins. Yet today the Christian world has turned this upside down to mean something that it does not.

Larry, the confusion on that comes from people not understanding the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant. The new covenant did not go into effect at the birth of Christ Jesus, it went into effect that the death of Christ Jesus, it says in Hebrews that a will, or a covenant does not go into effect until the one who made it dies, it never go is in effect, while the one who made it his living.
