Reconciliation Jesus Took Away Your Sins on the Cross

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P816 (03-10-23)

Remember the Cross ~ Your Sins Are Forgiven Forever!

~ “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.2 Peter 1:5-9

~ Bob George
“I believe when when Christ is talking about picking up the cross, and following Him the cross was the instrument by which Jesus Christ took away the sins of the world. A fact that most people say they believe out on one side of their mouth, and then deny by their actions and their verbiage out of the other side of their mouth. When you’re talking about taking up your cross that is, to me that is meaning that I am a forgiving person. That’s what he did at … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Understanding the New Covenant

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P698 (01-07-22)

Understanding the New Covenant vs the Old Covenant

Marriage and divorce are topics of conversation that come up for Christians many times as being held as a hammer over someone’s head, especially if they are or have been divorced. Yet it’s so vitally important to put things in the proper perspective. Divorce, marriage and remarriage in the New Covenant vs divorce, marriage and remarriage under the Old Covenant are items that need to be addressed and placed in the proper context. First off, we need to understand which side of the cross we live under right now, and also to understand that Jesus taught under the Old Covenant of the law. He taught that because He needed to bury us under it completely. Only Jesus could and did obey the law. We can not obey it.

The first caller, Michael called from Atlanta Georgia. He called about marriage and divorce.

Bob explains the New Covenant and points out that we live on the New Testament side of the cross. We live in the New Covenant. We live under a new will of God. The old Covenant was the law, and no … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is The First Born of God

Classic Christianity – Christmas P2 (12-21-21)

Without The Shedding of Blood There is No Forgiveness – It is Finished!

Is Jesus going to shed His blood again? No! So if Jesus shed His blood one time for the sins of the whole world, and “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” [Hebrews 9:22], then what are we going to have to conclude from that one verse of scripture? It is finished! Jesus cried out from the cross, “It is finished!” There is no more sacrifice for sins. His work was complete.

Shout it from the rooftops! Jesus was born a man and lived a perfect life and took away all our sins on the cross from the sight of God so that in Him we may become the righteousness of God ourselves and receive His eternal Life in us.

Hebrews 9:22
22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Jesus became sin for us!

2 Corinthians 5:21
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Yet most … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Has Forgiven You Completely

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P24 (07-19-21)

Quit Sinning Against the Knowledge of Truth!

As Bob has said numerous times, all of us have been taught error from various denominational persuasions of men. The scripture that continually comes up in certain circles of Christendom is in Hebrews 10:26-31. People often think that to mean that if I do those dirty dozen or those nasty nine sins, deliberately, then I am going to hell. Many get fearful of this passage because they do not have proper understanding, because they do not understand what Jesus accomplished at the cross. People should be fearful, if they are sinning against the knowledge of the truth and after receiving the knowledge of the truth. The truth is people do not understand or realize he is talking about the sin of unbelief. He is talking about sinning against the knowledge of truth.

Now, if someone understands the truth, but deliberately and stubbornly says, “I do not care” and I am going back to the day of atonement or to my confessional booth to a priest to get my sins forgiven or as a Protestant quoting 1 John 1:9 to keep short … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Wants Your Faith to be in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P19 (07-06-21)

Synopsis

Faith is one of those words used or heard but do we know what it means? Hebrews 11 defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This “hope for” is not a “hope so”, but a firm trust in what God has guaranteed us in His Son. We put our trust in what God accomplished for us in Christ Jesus, in what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for us.

But not everyone has heard or understood what Jesus accomplished for us. You can know that Jesus is God, and that he lived, died and did certain marvelous things, but you have not put your faith in what He has given you, which is eternal life. I once was asked, “Would you like to be saved?”. I had never heard such a strange question before. “Saved from what?” I knew about Jesus dying on a cross. You see a picture of that in the church I grew up in all the time. And I knew something about Jesus rising from the dead. You at least hear about that … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
