Belief in Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 32 (06-11-19)

Bob George TeachingThe disciples, whom Jesus spent 3 years with, came to accept the truth Jesus was sharing concerning eternal life, except Judas Iscariot who later betrayed him. These disciples had an encounter with the living God. It was a hard teaching because it was so contrary to what they are so accustomed to hearing, since, like all of us, live in the natural realm and are born spiritually dead. But Peter, a disciple of Jesus, caught the message. Bob George also had an encounter with God and was born again in 1969. This is not an encounter where you physically see Jesus but where you hear spiritual truth. Truth is revealed to you by the Spirit of God. The Spirit has spoken deep into your heart that you are spiritually dead and in need of life and you accepted the only available life, the resurrected life of Christ.

Jesus is speaking on earth to these men concerning what he is going to do in the near future, to die, be buried and then to rise again. That has already happened in our generation over 2000 years ago. But not all men accept … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

You Are Reconciled to God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 18 (05-08-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George shares again the good news of the gospel, sharing truth from scriptures that he has compiled into a little booklet titled, “Born Free”. What is our part, as believers in Christ?

2 Corinthians 5:20
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Recall that which Christ has done for us, the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

We are saved by His life, the cross was not an end in itself, but a means of accomplishing the end – that of restoring life that had been lost through sin.

Colossians 1:21-22
21 Once you were alienated … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Born Free

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 17 (05-07-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George answers the question, “What is the gospel?”. Starting from 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Bob explains that Jesus died, was buried and was raised from the dead and appeared to you. This is the gospel that saves you, with nothing added to it. The gospel that saves is the message of what Christ has done to take away the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life. Bob wrote a booklet titled , “Born Free”, that explains the gospel message. There are five main thoughts Bob shares concerning the gospel message.

  1. Man’s problem : Man is spiritually dead and in need of life
  2. God’s Solution : God has provided life through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
  3. Before life could be given, sins had to be forgiven (taken away)
  4. The Good News of the Gospel – “It is finished”
  5. In Him you are a new creation.

Our decision is to turn from our unbelief and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our life. Salvation is crossing over from death to life and is by faith alone. The good news of the gospel is “It is finished”. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 16 (05-06-19)

Bob George TeachingBob continues in the gospel of John, where he left off in chapter 4. He summarizes Jesus encounter with the Samaritan woman as an introduction to the topic of evangelism and starts up again where Jesus reconnects with his disciples, telling them the fields are ripe for harvest. Evangelism is reaching out in love with the truth of the gospel message. The gospel message is all about what Jesus came to earth to do and did. As believers, we share the same gospel of good news we believed and received, which is the same gospel that the apostle Paul preached. We long to share that message with others. Bob George explains what the gospel message is beginning with 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and several other scriptures. In one sentence, the gospel is a message of how man is saved from the consequences of sin, the wages of sin, which is death by the gift of God, which is eternal life. He explains the reason he wrote the “Born Free” gospel booklet in the order it is in. He first sets the stage for understanding man’s need for life by sharing … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
