Synopsis

People are so filled with gratitude when they realize the truth of what salvation really is. The gospel, the message of good news that God came to bring to us through His Son, and what was accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection, continues to change lives today. People from time to time have called into the radio program, having been blessed by the truth they heard, the spiritual wisdom and knowledge of God, of the grace of God that helped them escape bondage to legalism and to grab a hold of life in Christ Jesus, which is what true living is all about.

From time to time, people, out of their own love for the Lord, will give financial or of their time and energy, so the truth of the word of God, of life in Christ Jesus, continues to go out. You may not know this, but it takes money to get this message proclaimed on radio stations. Synopsis

Truth is so important to grab a hold of so you can walk in the way God intended. On today’s program, two callers called, that highlight how when truth is not understood or grasped, you are unable to walk in the new life God has given you. There are those people who will not think it worthwhile to hold onto truth, and have been deceived by the thinking of the world, and are lost. Sometimes people call in on behalf of a son or daughter or granddaughter who has been ensnared, and are asking for counsel in how to reach their loved ones with truth. Then there are those who have not quite grasped what salvation is, and because of their faulty thinking, such as the fear of losing salvation, they are unable to walk in true freedom.

Glenn asked a simple question but really opened up to expose a more serious problem in his belief system. For many years he was enslaved in fear and depression over guilt over a past sin of fornication. Bob graciously helped guide him to truth so he could walk in new freedom. The older you get, you will be at a funeral of a mother or father or close friend. That is a part of life. That was not God’s design for people to die. That came about when the first created beings sinned, and so sin and death entered the world.

But, God, out of His deep love for us, provided a solution so that we can be raised to new life in Him. If you grasp the depth of His love for you, of His taking away your cause of death, called sin, then you can appreciate the cross. For you realize how depraved and hopeless you are, and have come to grips that not only are you a sinner, but you are separated from your creator, who loves you so much. When you realize He died to take away your sins, and then rose again so you can freely come to Him, to receive new life, His life you were unable to live. Synopsis

As you read the scriptures, there are some passages you find that are just difficult to understand, particularly passages in Ezekiel and Revelation. In such cases, all you can say is, “I do not know”, and that is okay. There are those things, like in Ezekiel, that can be considered interpretive speculation as to what they represent. Unless it is spelled out in detail that this is what it represents, it is just speculation. It is best to just hold onto those passages that are clear, that you know is true.

The most important message to understand from the scriptures, and the scriptures are very clear on this, is the gospel, the message of good news that Jesus tells us in order to enter heaven. I would not advise asking someone whether they believe in heaven or hell, but rather ask them if you ever discovered knowing Christ in a personal way. That is what they really need to be able to come to have an answer from the scriptures.

Oftentimes, people hesitate to share truth someone needs to hear, thinking that actions speak louder than your words. Synopsis

The Lord said to us so we have the privilege of choosing to let Him live His life in and through us. But we also have the choice not to do so, but it would make no sense to do so. We are no longer under the law but under grace. That does not give us a license to sin, for we can do that without the law. Indeed, the law is what stirs up sin. But under grace, when you are truly born again, you have this attitude of gratitude, of the deep mercy and mercy of God towards you ,that you are compelled to live in the new way of the Spirit, who lives in you.

So God called us to be sanctified, to be set apart from the world, for His good purposes. But, when we are not thinking correctly, having errors in our heads, we need to be renewed with truth. For Jesus said that the truth will set you free. Every now and then, you have a caller who asks, “What must I do to be saved?” or says “I am having doubts about my salvation.” Many people have doubts about their salvation for any number of reasons. And wherever you are right now, we all start out the same way, without the Spirit of God living in you. That is we are born dead spiritually and are in need of new life.

When you are reading the gospels, you are reading a record of the life of Christ while he was here on earth. What was his destiny? He came to die on the cross and give you and me eternal life in Himself. In order to do that, He had to prepare us and show us what our condition was. He had to show us we are sinners. If we do not see ourselves as sinners, what would the cross mean to me? He had to show us we are dead. If I did not know I was dead, why would I need life?
