No Amount of Works You do Will Save You. Only Christ Jesus Can Save You!

~ “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” ^{Galatians 2:16}

~ Many many people are thinking that their fleshly works are somehow pleasing to God. But God says our works are as filthy rags. And as a reminder, God does NOT grade on a curve. And these people that think they are doing good works through their flesh, don’t have any idea that they are dead and in need of Life. That Life is only found in the person of Christ Jesus himself.

Synopsis

As you study the scriptures, hold onto those things that are true. Do not let more obscure passages lead you into confusion and error. Let us not forget that the goal of instruction is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. The only thing that counts is faith that expresses itself in love.

There are scriptures that are very clear, such as the gospel, that requires faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and nothing added to that, nothing that you do, but what God alone has done for you in Christ Jesus. Hold onto that truth, that in Christ Jesus, you are a forgiven person, and that you have eternal life because of the eternal consequence of the cross, with His righteousness imputed to you. You must have a firm grasp on such truth. Be single-minded on that, and do not be double-minded, mixing law and grace, or doubting that Jesus took away all your sins, thinking that He only took away some of your sins. Danny: In my line of work, I meet a lot of people, and when appropriate I witness. Do you believe the Trinity?

Bob: The word Trinity is not in the bible. Neither is the rapture. But the scripture explains the concept of both. There is one God yet declared as three different persons; God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit.

In one place, Jesus said I will raise myself from the dead (John 10:18)
In another place, the Father raised him from the dead (Galatians 1:1, Romans 6:4)
In another place, the Holy Spirit raised him from the dead (Romans 8:11)
In another place, God raised him from the dead (Acts 2:24)

Bob: He was not raised four times. It was just a different way of saying God raised him from the dead.

Bob: As a seminary professor once said, “If you deny the Trinity you lose your soul. If you try to understand the Trinity, you lose your mind.”

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 32 (06-11-19)

The disciples, whom Jesus spent 3 years with, came to accept the truth Jesus was sharing concerning eternal life, except Judas Iscariot who later betrayed him. These disciples had an encounter with the living God. It was a hard teaching because it was so contrary to what they are so accustomed to hearing, since, like all of us, live in the natural realm and are born spiritually dead. But Peter, a disciple of Jesus, caught the message. Bob George also had an encounter with God and was born again in 1969. This is not an encounter where you physically see Jesus but where you hear spiritual truth. Truth is revealed to you by the Spirit of God. The Spirit has spoken deep into your heart that you are spiritually dead and in need of life and you accepted the only available life, the resurrected life of Christ.
