How to Live by Faith by Christ Jesus in You

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P6 (11-29-21)

For me to Live is Christ Jesus

When a person becomes a believer in Christ Jesus, they become born again, and the Holy Spirit comes to give life to the believer. The same life that raised Jesus from the dead is the same life that raises us from the dead when we place faith in Him.

Philippians 1:21
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

How to Live by Faith by Christ Jesus in You

Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Romans 8:11
11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Choose Jesus For Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P690 (11-19-21)

Choose Jesus For Life – Jesus Took Away Your Sins on the Cross, He Did Not Atone for Sins

Join Bob George as he answers questions from callers on the air.

Jim from Little Falls, NY called about limited atonement. This is one of the things that Calvinists and Reformed theologians cling to. Atonement is what the blood of bulls did (it covered sins). Jesus did not atone for sins. He took them away. He took the sins of the whole world upon himself. The biblical word is propitiation.

1 Peter 3:18
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven. Salvation is life.

Romans 5:10
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

People wrongly think that getting your sins forgiven is salvation. That is reconciliation but not life. They have this idea since they have … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Reveals The Word of God Meaning

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P5 (11-17-21)

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection and A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross go hand in hand. Consider picking up both of these books as Bob George teaches about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. These bible study books are part of our Closer Look Series of books designed to be used in individual bible study or in group study sessions.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10
9 However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived” —
the things God has prepared for those who love him—

10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

The love of God is too big to just be experienced by the eyes or ears, but it must be revealed by the Holy Spirit. It is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. You must be born again before you can understand spiritual things. Natural man can not understand the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Salvation is Life in God Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P6 (06-07-21)

Synopsis

Have you ever asked, “What is the purpose of the law?” If you turn to Galatians 3:19-24, you have your answer. Why is this important to know? Bob George uses several illustrations to help explain this. He used illustrations of a hammer and a mirror. And, if we know what our role is, as ministers of a New Covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6), not of an Old Covenant, then we have a sure foundation in truth. This presumes you understand the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant and that the New Covenant replaced the old one (Hebrews 8:7-9).

So a hammer is made for the purpose of building a house. In the hands of a carpenter then it can build something useful. But in the hands of a murderer, it can be used to beat someone in the head with. So there is nothing wrong with a hammer, but how it is used depends on whose hands it is in. So what do people do with the law? They use it as a means to obtain righteousness, or right standing, before God, and then use … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Absent From the Body Present With the Lord

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P637 (05-27-21)

Synopsis

Many believers think the rapture will happen very soon. In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul instructs the believers to encourage one another with these things, that one day we will meet the Lord in the air. The Holy Spirit is deposited in us as a guarantee for the redemption of our bodies. Those who are older, or those born with a crippled body, definitely know what their failing body is like and certainly long for a new one. One day we will be absent from the body and present with the Lord. We will be given a new glorified body that is not like our current, for we are told that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. And as we think about Jesus’ resurrected body, that could walk through walls, we are told we will have a body like His.

We do not know how God will make us a glorified body but we know He will. Much about the end times is difficult to understand but we can read the scriptures and allow God to encourage our hearts. Jesus even tells us to read Revelation and … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus is Our Sabbath Rest Now Rest

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P634 (05-14-21)

Synopsis

To grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is important that we do not rely on what a denominational persuasion says, whether Baptist, Catholic, or Presbyterian, or whatever else it might be. Nor should we rely on what the early church fathers said, what Polycarp, John Wesley or Martin Luther said. Nor do we blindly rely on People to People or whatever common ministry is out there today. If what someone says is in agreement with truth as revealed by the Spirit of God through the word of God, then certainly hold onto such truth, for that is revealed by the Spirit of God, who does not lie.

Ultimately, we need to study the word of God for ourselves, as Paul commended the people of Berea for doing, for they diligently studied the scriptures to see if what he said was so, and they only had the Old Testament scriptures available to them in their day. Now that the gift of prophecy has been given to the prophets as well as the apostles, and the divine revelation from God to men has been written down, by … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
