~ Most today do not understand what the word of God means. Oh, many can repeat what the word of God says, but they do not have a clue what the word of God means. The reason they do not understand, is because they do not have the Spirit of Truth living in them. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and He will share with you ALL Truth if you are willing to listen to Him. However, there are many times, even as a true child of God, that we either lean on our own understanding of things, or go to some commentary (regardless of who is actually doing the commenting), even if it is someone that we trust, to try and get some insight on the Truth of the word of God. Scripture tells us that we who are in Christ, and Christ is in us, then we have the mind of God living in us. And He is the one that we ought to trust for ALL Truth. He remembered in the past, getting dunked in water and thinking to himself, this is dumb for I am already saved. He explained that he had heard Bob explaining on another program that about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and how he could of cried because he himself came to understand that being baptized in water means nothing for salvation.

Faith is one of those words used or heard but do we know what it means? Hebrews 11 defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This “hope for” is not a “hope so”, but a firm trust in what God has guaranteed us in His Son. We put our trust in what God accomplished for us in Christ Jesus, in what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for us.

But not everyone has heard or understood what Jesus accomplished for us. Questions that come up quite frequently are questions in regard to tithing and various passages in the Old Testament. Questions like, “How does that passage apply to me today?” It doesn’t. The most prevalent question is in regard to tithing. “Am I robbing God when I do not tithe?” Absolutely not. If a person understood the New Covenant they are living under today, they would not need to ask such questions, for the answer would be very clear. These questions can easily be answered from the scriptures themselves, and anyone who has the Spirit of God living in Him, would then be able to discern the truth on these things.
