Jesus Said to Believe in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P3 (02-10-21)

Synopsis

You cannot separate the word of God from the person of Jesus Christ. If you will not or cannot believe the word of God is absolutely true, then how are you going to know if any of it is true, including truth about Christ Jesus. So how can we ever rest in salvation in the one who came to save us if we are not certain the book that recorded that salvation is true. So if it is true as it relates to the person of Jesus Christ, it has to be true in regard to what Christ claimed about every word He held in His hand.

The entire testimony of the bible rests upon the author, and that is Christ Jesus. The credibility of the book rests in the credibility of the author. Jesus said the word is totally true. Listen now as Bob George reads eyewitness accounts of those who had been with Jesus when He walked on the earth. What testimony do we have from Jesus’ own words concerning the Old Testament scriptures He held in His hands? What importance did He place on the word of God, when He was tempted by the devil in the wilderness?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Truth Sets You Free

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P2 (02-09-21)

Synopsis

Do you have a plumbline to gauge whether something is true? The word of God is the plumbline for truth, to gauge our lives so that we are not ensnared and trapped in error in our thinking but can submit to God and resist the lie and live in truth. The battle in the world today, as in Jesus day, and since the beginning of time, has been the battle for the mind. That is where temptation starts.

Temptation is getting you to doubt what God has said, to doubt that God has the best in mind for you, and to believe that someone other than God has the answers to life, that someone else can give you what you need rather than God, or that you can meet your own needs and live independently of God, or even that He is not God. Satan has so deceived mankind that we have become slaves to the god of this world, who is Satan, where we experience so much heartache and pain.

Jesus came as the living word, living like a man, even though He is God, so that we, who are not God, will know what it means to live in the manner God intended us to live, in total dependency on a perfectly merciful and loving God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look at The Word of God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P1 (02-08-21)

Synopsis

How do you form convictions? Do you know what truth is? How do you know what is true and what is not true? What if I found out my convictions were based on a lie? Do you get truth by what some man says is true? But he could be lying to you. How would you know? Where would you look for something as important as the meaning and purpose of life, for answers to the nagging questions you might have? “What is wrong with me?”, “Why am I not experiencing the joy of salvation?”, or “Why do I feel empty inside?”

How many of you have heard, “What is true for you is not true for me.” as if truth is relative, and as if no one can know the truth. Is that true? No. If we know Jesus is God, and in the last series of studies, we showed overwhelming evidence to come to the conclusion that He is God, then if Jesus is our Creator, and He is, then would you not want to find out what He has to say? He certainly knows how our mind is supposed to function and how we are supposed to live, since He created us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

So many callers have called to thank Bob for the truth they heard, from either a conversation on the Classic Christianity radio program or from the many resources he has available, as he helps people understand the truth from the scriptures, from what the Lord has revealed to him.

One of the most common questions is in regard to overcoming depression. First of all, depression is not unusual. It is so common to all men. God knows our tendencies, our weaknesses, and how our mind works. He is our creator after all. So why not go to Him for truth on such matters?

So first realize that our emotions respond predictably to what we put in our minds. If you see a scary movie, that scene you saw, your mind does not know the difference between reality and fantasy. So when we hear depressing news, or experience sad things in life, if you dwell on a past event in your life that made you sad, you think sad thoughts.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P605 (02-04-21)

Synopsis

All of us struggle with all kinds of things in this fallen flesh of ours. It is good to know the mercy and grace of God. No matter what you are going through, there is hope in God. What a blessing it is when you have someone to talk to, who has been through what you are going through, and has learned to overcome the flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit, having had his mind renewed with truth.

Whether you are struggling with depression or in the process of going through a divorce, there is practical wisdom in Christ to deal with these struggles. The apostle Paul addressed some issues in regard to divorce in terms of the grace of God, under the New Covenant that we live under now. Yes, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. So often believers have not come to understand that they do not live under the law any more. That changes the whole dynamic of how you live and understand those scriptures like the sermon on the mount, and those passages in the epistles of the apostle Paul.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Victory Over Depression - Book

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P604 (02-03-21)

Synopsis

Oftentimes people grow up with religion and reject the reality of Christ Jesus. They associate Christ with things spoken in context of preachers speaking things that are simply not true. Instead of checking out what is being said as being true or not, we see no reality in it, so we reject the religion, but sadly we also reject Christ, whom we associate with in our minds. But one day, we see the reality of a changed life in someone else, who has the Spirit of God living in him. So we ask, what is it in him that is different? What kind of life does he have that I do not? Then you hear the practical wisdom he shares from God’s word. Your heart is moved. You see the practical wisdom and how people are able to walk in joy and peace. People have come to Christ that way. Christ in you was a light that shined in a dark world, but truth was made known concerning Christ, of the gospel that saves, and he believed and put His faith in Christ.

But as believers, as a child of God, we struggle with any number of things as we are in the process of having our minds renewed with truth.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
