Jesus is God the Word of God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P642 (06-11-21)

Synopsis

A very common misunderstanding is the concept of confession and repentance of sin. A lot of erroneous thinking comes from denominational influences. Many of us grew up in a Catholic or a Protestant type of church, so you probably have heard people say you need to confess your sins to a priest or to God. But very few people have really checked into the word of God to see if what is being said is true or not. Take a look at what Jesus said prior to His ascension back to heaven while he walked on this earth for some forty days. He said He came to prove the world wrong about what they think sin is, of what people think they need to repent of.

John 16:7-11
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because

Propitiation - Jesus Took Away the Sins of the World

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P617 (03-18-21)

Synopsis

Common questions people ask from time to time are what is redemption, atonement, propitiation and trinity. If you have grown up with any sort of religious background, or have opened up your bible to read it, you have probably heard or read these words before. Words have meaning, but they must be used in their context in which they are written. Keep in mind also that translations are not always accurate, so if something is unclear, check it out in a Hebrew or Greek concordance. There is an interlinear bible online that can be helpful on that.

But, first of all, rely on the Holy Spirit to teach you truth. The biblical meaning is what is important, even if a dictionary seems to indicate a contrary meaning. There is enough cross-referencing of scripture, with the Holy Spirit living in you, to reveal to you God’s intended meaning. Without relying on the Holy Spirit to teach you truth, how would you know what any man is saying is true or not? Just because many theologians tell you what something means does not mean it is correct. If a pastor tells you … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Wants Your Faith to be in Him

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P593 (12-11-20)

Synopsis

We all struggle in growing in Christ, learning how to overcome worry and all kinds of sin, and how to make wise decisions in those difficult things of life. Much of our struggle is because we are leaning on our understanding, trying to work things out in the energy of our flesh, or are focusing, not on Christ, but our circumstances and surroundings, and letting the voice of the world crowd out truth. Our mind has drifted from focusing on Christ to the thinking and pattern of the world.

It also takes time to grow. When you first come to Christ, it seems hard to navigate through the word of God and through the things you hear. You may not have the discernment yet to know what is right and what is wrong or what is the better choice. At times, you just do not know the truth, or lack the wisdom from God to know how to proceed. Yes, it is good to hear from mature believers in the Lord, to help you out. But ultimately, any human being can misguide you, because they may not know the truth … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled for Your Sins

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P26 (12-08-20)

Synopsis

As we continue in our study, we now turn to look at a more magnified look at the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. We have a prophecy from the psalmist David, in Psalm 22, some thousand years before the event of his crucifixion ever occurred. Through this prophecy we gain insight into who Jesus is and why He came. The disciples of Jesus, both Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, record what they observed actually happen at the foot of the cross, concerning Jesus last words, as he hung there on a cross for you and me.

Recall also what Jesus told his disciples after his resurrection, as he walked on earth for many days.

Luke 24:44
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

This alone tells you that Jesus said he fulfilled what was spoken in the Psalms concerning himself, and how that had to happen that way. In other words, this was just not some tragic unexpected event … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Came to Set You Free

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P587 (11-12-20)

Synopsis

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God today. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet. Not only is he not a prophet, he is a deceiver.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin nor does he tempt anyone to sin. We sin by our own evil desires.

There are many things we are tempted by but there may be a few things we are not tempted by. But if I was not tempted by something, then it would not tempt me if … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P18 (11-11-20)

Synopsis

The coming of Jesus Christ into human history on our behalf was not an event that suddenly burst upon an unsuspecting world. It was a culmination of a long line of prophetic statements, starting with the voice of God predicting his coming at the beginning of human history, that we read in Genesis 3. His arrival in human form was an event planned before the creation of the world. We read that in 1 Peter 1:20, and the mission for which he came, as discussed in 2 Corinthians 5:81-21.

A brief summary of the purpose and plan for Jesus coming to this earth can be found in this little booklet, Be Born Free, sharing from the scriptures, the truth of what God had said through Jesus Christ and what Jesus death, burial and resurrection accomplished for you and me.

So let us look at some prophetic events recorded in the scriptures from the prophet Micah and the prophet Isaiah, written over 700 years before the events occurred. These things were written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed one, the promised Messiah, … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
