Jesus Sets us Apart

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P32 (04-20-21)

Synopsis

With the word of God, and the Spirit of God living in us, knowing the totality of the cross, the reality of the resurrection, and the fullness of what Christ did for us in all of that, regardless of whatever shortcomings there are in translations, you can know the meaning of the scriptures, and so much difficulty in understanding soon disappears. You come to realize that the word of God is divinely inspired, written down through the personalities of men, through the prophets and apostles, but with the full meaning of what God wanted to express to us, that we may put our faith in Him and have eternal life, the abundant life He promised us.

These men, whom God appointed and raised up for that purpose, prior to the foundation of the world, wrote down what God said to them. When the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, to indwell the apostles forever, the Holy Spirit brought back to their remembrance, to the apostles, who were eyewitnesses of His death, burial and resurrection, of all that they had seen and heard, that God wanted them to write down for all generations to come, so men might know Him who is true and eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Closer Look at Word of God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P31 (04-19-21)

Synopsis

As you research about how the bible came to be, you marvel at how it came together. People from forty different walks of life, across several continents, across a vast span of time, yet all the books we know as the bible today, have one consistent theme. They all point to the person of Jesus Christ, from Genesis, describing the creation of the world and the fall of man, to about 2000 years ago, to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, to the final book written through the apostle John, in the book of Revelation, describing future events yet to be fulfilled, that all of scripture testifies of God’s redemption of fallen mankind through the person of Jesus Christ.

Then you read the scriptures, of what scripture itself testifies of how the bible came to be written down, of how God spoke in various ways through the prophets of the Old Testament, through dreams and visions and numerous ways, and then how He spoke to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. These were not words of men, ideas that men came up with. These men heard directly from God and were told directly by God to write down what they heard.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P626 (04-16-21)

Synopsis

It seems in today’s church world or religious world, people do not know what it means to rest. It seems people are either working for their salvation, which is an impossibility, or are trying to double up their efforts in the church to be certain they are pleasing to God. The first question to be asked is, “Do you know what salvation is?” That is where you start. Do you know the totality of the cross, what is accomplished for you and me? Do you know the meaning of the resurrection? Do you know if you are made complete in Christ, being made a child of God, with a new identity, with the Spirit of God living in you? Have you entered the Sabbath rest as spoken about in Hebrews?

And as you come to Christ, realize that you still have sin-indwelling flesh. You are not going to perfect your flesh, or make it better. No, you overcome your flesh by the Spirit, by loving one another. But love is not something you conjure up. Love is a fruit of the Spirit, which comes from a dynamic relationship with the living God, who is love, and is alive living in you, if you are born again.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look at The Word of God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P29 (04-13-21)

Synopsis

Is the bible relevant for today? Are there contradictions? What evidence do you have that it can be trusted, that it is the word of God, truth that will set us free? Have you found the bible to be useful for doctrine, correction, reproof and training in righteousness?

We have heard the testimony of God concerning His word. We have read what the apostles, the eyewitnesses of the risen Savior have said. We have read what the prophets had to say, and how truth was revealed to them through dreams and visions and various and sundry ways. But today, we have heard truth for ourselves through the Holy Spirit He has given us. Today, there is no new revelation. The Lord has spoken to us through His Son.

So what is the condition of your heart? Until the Spirit of God reveals truth to you, you are not going to understand it anyway. All the persuasiveness of man combined is not going to challenge a hard heart, a heart that does not want to receive truth from the word of God. But I have better hope for you, you who have a humble and teachable heart.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Works All Things Out for Our Good

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P621 (04-01-21)

Synopsis

Questions that come up quite frequently are questions in regard to tithing and various passages in the Old Testament. Questions like, “How does that passage apply to me today?” It doesn’t. The most prevalent question is in regard to tithing. “Am I robbing God when I do not tithe?” Absolutely not. If a person understood the New Covenant they are living under today, they would not need to ask such questions, for the answer would be very clear. These questions can easily be answered from the scriptures themselves, and anyone who has the Spirit of God living in Him, would then be able to discern the truth on these things.

First of all, to get a grasp of what the New Covenant is we live under today, the book of Hebrews is a book strongly encouraged that you read. There you will discover that the New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant. There is a new priest now, who is Christ Jesus, and there are no more sacrifices for sin, no more need to sacrifice bulls and goats anymore, and because of Jesus’ shed blood on a cross our sins will be remembered no more.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Created All Things

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P17 (03-16-21)

Synopsis

We have been reading the testimony of the bible concerning itself. As you read through the pages, you cannot but help notice a divine author, the testimony of Jesus Himself, who is the living word who came down from heaven, who speaks into the hearts of men. You cannot separate the word of God from the person of God. And if Jesus is who He claims to be, God, and the divine author, then what is written through these pages is true.

So all those people and events we read about in the scriptures are true, whether from the Old Testament or the New Testament. Not only are they true, but they testify of what will be accomplished in and through the person of Jesus Christ. For example, the prophet Jeremiah testified of a new covenant that will come after a certain period of time in history. We are now living under that new covenant today. As history unfolded, we discovered that Jesus fulfilled all that was spoken of through the prophets concerning Himself. Jesus Himself testified of these people and events. He Himself said He would die on a cross only to rise again, a command He said He received from His Father.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
