~ If a person is not being asked the question about the 1 John 1:9 passage of scripture, you can bet they are not preaching the gospel of Christ Jesus. And the reason people do indeed ask about that verse of scripture is because the overwhelming majority camp on a wrong interpretation of the word of God in regards to 1 John 1:9. The Greek word for Confess means to agree with God concerning your sins. What is it to agree with God? That God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting your sins against you or me, or anyone in the world. We rest in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. We are not to keep placing him back up there and calling God a liar, saying to him, “I don’t believe you died for all of my sins, and certainly you must not have really died for the sins of the whole world.” That is the mentality of people today. Sacrifices Were An Annual Reminder of Sins ~ Jesus Set us Free From All of That!

~ If you are in Christ, and He is in you, He has set you free from the law of sin and death. The law was a shadow of things to come, not the realities themselves. The book of Hebrews is key to our understanding what the new covenant is all about. Once you realize the truth, that God is no longer counting your sins against you, the book of Hebrews is a message of freedom, that makes you want to jump for joy! God didn’t want us to be under the law, because He knew no one can do everything that the law required. So God took care of that for us. He fulfilled the law for us, so that in Him we could become the righteousness of God. Yet people have started there own laws. No One Can Live Under Both The Old and New Covenants

~ The old covenant doesn’t even exist today. No one can or could keep the old covenant of God. The law of God was fulfilled by Jesus, and he ushered in a new covenant upon his death on the cross. So it’s super important that we actually understand what the new covenant is. God is NOT counting your sins against you. God is NOT counting anyone’s sins against them. That is what enables a person to recognize the love of God, for God so loved the world that he sent His Son, that whoso ever believes in Him should not perish and shall have eternal life. When a person accepts Jesus and what he did on the cross for them, the Holy Spirit comes to live in them immediately giving a person eternal life. And by the way, it is NOT some future event, it is this very moment that a person places faith in the Son. When you have the Son, you have Life.

Faith Says Thank You For Forgiveness

Forgiveness is Final

~ Your sins have been forgiven. Most of you that are reading and listening to this message know the Truth of that. However, over 99% of the world doesn’t believe in total forgiveness by God. They believe in ongoing forgiveness. They believe that if they ask for forgiveness from God he will extend forgiveness to them. Forgiveness is not something you get from God. It’s something he did for the sins of the whole world. Your forgiveness is not dependent on whether you ask God or not. Forgiveness has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with what Jesus did at the cross. For without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. So what are we to do with people today. Tell them the Truth. Tell them their sins have been forgiven because God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, NOT counting man’s sins against him. That truly is the good news of the gospel. ~ Do most people really believe the word of God today? Nope. Hardly anyone believes the word of God. They simply give lip service to what they hear and never exercise faith in Jesus and what He did on the cross for them. They refuse to come to the knowledge of TRUTH. For they would rather believe the lies that they were taught from childhood, and listen to the teaching of man instead of the teaching of God. So many today are caught up in the world today, that they even refuse to study to see if things are so. As we have said repeatedly, a person has today at their fingertips the ability to be as a Berean. They can study the scriptures for themselves, and ask the Holy Spirit to give them wisdom in understanding to see if things are accurate or not.
