Jesus Brought in The New Covenant

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P29 (10-12-21)

Are You as Perfect As Jesus Christ?

If you were asked, “Are you as perfect as Jesus Christ?”, what would be your answer? Are you in Christ? Are you in Him? If you say “yes” to that, what would your answer be, according to the word of God? Have you understood the New Covenant of God’s grace? So let us look at some passages of scriptures so we can come to a conclusion. What did God say?

Hebrews 10:14
14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Do we believe what God said, or are we like Adam in the garden of Eden, who did not believe what God said. “I know God said to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but I say it is good for me.” What happened to Adam? He sinned and he died, just as God had said would happen.

So many times people form doctrines from what they read but out of context of the complete picture of the New Covenant, which Christ Jesus ushered in after His death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Truth

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P678 (10-08-21)

The Problem of Man and the Solution In Christ Jesus

Many people said that they know someone who is going to heaven. When you ask him to explain, they say because he is a good person or nice or something like that. I used to hear people say that Catholics are Christian too. Now, I hear people say that Mormons are Christians too. Nowadays, you even have these inter-faith movements, a uniting of Muslims with Christianity, called Chrislam, as if they worship the same God. You are not a Christian, or a born again person, a child of God, by going to a certain denomination or even going through all the traditions of men established by that denomination (John 1:11-13).

John 1:11-13
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Whatever you believe concerning Jesus Christ must be in accordance with who Jesus is that we read about in the bible and what He alone accomplished for man by His death, burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Agree With God 1 John 1 9

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P24 (09-29-21)

Understanding 1 John 1:9

Listen as Bob George provides the proper context of 1 John 1:9, as that is the most misquoted and misunderstood passage of scripture. Many people think this scripture is written to believers, and think it means that, as Christians, when we sin, we need to confess that sin to God in order to either get back in relationship or back in fellowship with God. There are those who think you can lose salvation and those who think you can get out of fellowship with God, that somehow God is so mad at you because of sinning that you do. It’s important to understand that anything that does not come from faith is sin (Romans 14:23) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).

First of all, this passage is a letter written by a pastor to a mixed audience of lost and saved people. In particular, there were Gnostics among them bringing their heretical teaching. The Gnostics do not believe Jesus is God come in the flesh because they have this teaching of dualism, that all matter is evil and only spirit is good.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

It is Finished on the Cross

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P19 (09-20-21)

By the Spirit, Study the Word to Know the Truth About Forgiveness and Salvation

There is a lot of misunderstanding of the finality of the cross in the world of Christendom today. When you know the truth from the Word of God, then whatever error is out there can easily be spotted. When Jesus said, “It is finished” when dying on a cross, what did He mean?

John 19:30
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

What is finished? What was accomplished when Jesus died on a cross? And, was His death all that was necessary for man to be saved? To be saved means to be saved from death by being made alive in Christ. Death is an eternal separation from God. Having been born dead in Adam and in our trespasses and sins (Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-2), if we remain in that state, we remain dead.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Has Forgiven You Completely

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P24 (07-19-21)

Quit Sinning Against the Knowledge of Truth!

As Bob has said numerous times, all of us have been taught error from various denominational persuasions of men. The scripture that continually comes up in certain circles of Christendom is in Hebrews 10:26-31. People often think that to mean that if I do those dirty dozen or those nasty nine sins, deliberately, then I am going to hell. Many get fearful of this passage because they do not have proper understanding, because they do not understand what Jesus accomplished at the cross. People should be fearful, if they are sinning against the knowledge of the truth and after receiving the knowledge of the truth. The truth is people do not understand or realize he is talking about the sin of unbelief. He is talking about sinning against the knowledge of truth.

Now, if someone understands the truth, but deliberately and stubbornly says, “I do not care” and I am going back to the day of atonement or to my confessional booth to a priest to get my sins forgiven or as a Protestant quoting 1 John 1:9 to keep short accounts with God, after realizing what the knowledge of truth is, then there is no sacrifice for sin left, and then there should be fear of going to hell.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Makes us Ministers of the New

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P23 (07-14-21)

Synopsis

It is so important to understand what God Himself says is the gospel that saves. In 1 Corinthians 15, we read that it is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Nothing else. There is no baptism, church attendance, speaking in tongues, going to a confessional booth, seven sacraments, quoting 1 John 1:9 to keep yourself in fellowship, saved. Those latter things are things taught by the traditions of men. The word of God does not say such things. Your confidence in the gospel must be in what God Himself says it is, and that you have allowed the Holy spirit to reveal that truth to you. Your confidence must not be in the denominational persuasions of men, or what any pastor, priest or man says, for they could be teaching error.

So what did Jesus accomplish by his death on a cross? What did Jesus say after he gave up his spirit, after shedding his blood on a cross? It is finished. What is finished? Did not the author of Hebrews tell us that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin? Yes, in Hebrews 9:22.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
